I'd decided to consolidate the list of all dramas (HK/Korean) I'd watched in this year in a single post instead of posting it individually. Mainly because there is no point for me to put up synopsis of the dramas when there are already so many available on the Internet. A simple search on your favorite search engine would churn out everything you need to know about the drama.

Sailing - Day 3
Luckily for my MIL, who had volunteered to stay up to take care of Owein, I had managed to get a good rest.
But hearing the words "Mummy, can you give me some medicine?" from Owein, makes me feel guilty and so heartache. The poor boy had not been able to rest and had been throwing up through the night. He must be very uncomfortable and mummy was took sick to be with him :(
Brought him to the doctor 1st thing in the morning and had headed out real early to be the 1st in queue.
Hope no one else at home would fall sick ... so much had happen the past few days!!!

Sailing - Day 2
Odin seems to be a little better today. No more vomiting since he started on the vomiting medication.
But I had a bad feeling that it will be my turn today :(
Started the day feeling sleepy due to a restless night. Keep worrying about Odin hence can't really sleep. Probably due to the lack of rest, my head started to hurt by lunch time and pretty soon developed to migraine. Took my panadols and tried to take a nap with Odin after lunch.
Still, did not escape the evil virus!!!
I woke up from the nap with a fever and threw out whatever I ate earlier. Totally had no strength for anything else. Thank god for my helpful in laws who had help to take care of Odin, I manage to take a rest after popping more panadol and wait for my fever to subside.
Fever finally subside after 2 hours but I still do not dare to eat anything. Hope I will feel better tomorrow.
Feels so shity to fall sick and especially when hubby not around :(
Oops forgot to add ... Owein crumbled to virus attack too just when I felt a little better from the fever and thought I could get some rest.

Sailing - Day 1
1st thing in the morning is to get Odin ready to head out to the doctor. Hate Monday morning at the clinic and some more is a new place that I am bringing Odin to. I had wanted to try the new PD out for a few times cause it is much nearer to our place but the attitude of the nurse whenever I called kinda pissed me off. But this time, really no choice. My regular PD is on leave and the new PD is my next choice.
Just as I was about to leave my room, heard Owein coughing :( Sound pretty bad ... sigh ... why things can't seems to be working out. Hope I need not bring Owein to the doctor after I am done with Odin. To make matter worse, JM had to head out for sail today too. No extra hands available when I am at the doctor with Odin.
Clinic opens at 9am and since I had decided to let Owein rest at home, I could just head straight to the clinic. Reached there about 8:45am and there is already a queue at the clinic. I am 6th in line. Just as the doors open, Odin had decided to throw up again. Due to that, I was pushed further back the queue and that equates to a longer wait. By the time I was done at the doctor, it was already 11am. 2 hours wait to confirm that Odin had stomach flu and to get medication to stop his vomiting. Poor baby ... :(
Luckily Owein does not sound that bad by the time I got home and had decided to self medicate him 1st. Can't imagine another round at the GP clinic. At least I can get some rest in the afternoon.
What a way to begin with for a new week and somemore had to be a week that hubby had gone out sailing :(

Yippie yeah!!!
Oswald brought home good news today.
He came home from school with his lost lunch box. After a week, it was finally found. He said it was brought to him by the office people. They probably found it there when they sort out stuff from the lost and found box. Anyway glad that it was found. No need to go hunting for a replacement and get a new set of alphabet picks.
Yippie yeah ... good news for us!!!

Bento #36 - Moo Moo Cow
Have not been putting up bento post of late. That does not mean that I had stop bento-ing. Just that was pretty much out of inspiration and was just keeping things simple.
Finally had got the mood and get this cow off my to-do list. Made this bento for the boys last Wednesday.
End result of the bento ...
Owein - only manage to finish 1/2 of it. I had kind of expected that cos it was really too much for him. Note to self: never use Snow Blanc bread from Four Leave for Owein if need to use 2 slice of bread.
Oswald - Finished everything except for the mashmellow. BUT had forgotten to bring his lunch box back!!!!! To make matter worse, lunch box can't be found the next day :( According to him, he had remembered to bring his lunch bag back to class. But he did not see it in class the next day. HEARTACHE :[ Had used a Rilakkuma box for him that day and my alpha picks. Boo hoo hoo ... No more stock of the lunch box was seen at Kinokuniya yesterday. And now I get an incomplete alpha set.
Now really lost all my motivation to bento. Sobs~~~

Odin's 2 front teeth
Finally sighted his 2nd tooth. Popped out neatly beside his 1st tooth. Now he got 2 little teeth sitting on his bottom gums.
A cute sight when he smile. No more the 无牙, gummy smile days. Also a reminder that this little baby is no longer a baby. In fact, in 1.5 mths time, he will turn 1!!!!!

Recipe - S'mores
S'mores?? What's that??
S'mores (sometimes spelled smore) is a traditional nighttime campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. (for more details, do a google search for it and you will find more).
Why this??
Saw a picture of it and thought it looks so yummy. Dangerous combination of biscuits, marshmallow and chocolate. Had an urge to give it a try. After referring to a few recipes online, I'd made an adaption from a recipe. Tweeted to the right sweetness for me.

Speedy Recovery!!!
Today finally is the day to head back to KKH for review and removal of Oswald's cast. Final view of his cast before its removal ...

According to doctor, his bones had healed 80-85%. But still need to put on a wrist guard for the next 4 weeks. Glad that he is recovering well. This wrist guard will be his friend till his next appointment ...

Baking Frenzy
I had been on a baking frenzy over this National Day weekend.
My car had to be sent down to the workshop again for some rectification work and hence I am stuck at home with Owein and Odin. Oswald, he gets to spend this long weekend at grandma's house. Hubby was sent down to the workshop together with the car to see through the rectification work. So, I turned to baking to pass time at home ... I had been baking everyday since Friday.
Friday's bake (10 Aug 12) was Pandan Chiffon Cake and Blueberry Crumble Muffins.
Saturday's bake (11 Aug 12) was Double Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Sunday's bake (12 Aug 12) of the day was Banana Chiffon Cake. Found an excuse to bake because there were oven ripen bananas sitting around. Using a recipe from a chiffon book that I'd bought recently - 初学者也ok !自己作职人配方的戚风蛋糕 - result is fantastic and I love it!!! Going to find chance to try out other recipes from the book soon ...
Luckily got a bunch of people that I can pass on my bakes to else I really don't know how to finish all those bakes. But I must admit one thing ... baking is very therapeutic. It not only helps pass time, it also helps one to reduce stress.

Bento #35 - 'Singa' Burger
Decided to prepare a 'lazy' lunch for the boys and came up with this idea.
Since National Day is just round the corner, decided to create some National Day mood at home. Made this simple lion on the Ham Cheese and Egg burger for the boys and I call it 'Singa' Burger.
Really looking forward to National Day on Thursday. It is Singapore's 47th Birthday. Happy Birthday Singapore!!!

Odin n his buddy
Odin is 9 months old already. Check him out, he is almost as 'long' as his buddy.
It was definitely the most busy 9 months since Odin's arrival but it is also the happiest 9 months since. Watching him grow this period of time was indeed a great pleasure. Discovering his moods and traits day by day is so much fun. This little bundle had brought so much joy.

Bento #34 - Chip Chip Chip
Chip ... Chip ... Chip. Let's sing and have a merry day in school.
Ran out of idea and had gotten Oswald to pick what he want. He choose a birdie stencil and I've turned it into this.
A quick and easy Friday bento put together for the boys.
Next week, is Singapore's birthday. Time to brainstorm National Day related bento over the weekend. I wander what I can come up with. ;)

Drama - 你为我著迷 (Heartstrings)
By CN Blue's main singer Jung Yong Hwa whi is also the lead actor in this drama. Paired once again with Park Shin Hye and this time their love relation worked out and blossomed. Unlike in their last show together - 原来是美男 (He's Beautiful).
Another song that I like in the drama, also by Jung Yong Hwa. Very sad song and very touching.
Not forgetting Park Shin Hye's sweet voice. This is my favorite song by her in this drama.

Gone Sailing - Day 4
JM is coming home today. Though I don't know what time he will arrive but I am glad that he is back. Had been a rough and tense week for me. Having gotten too used to driving around and suddenly no car, everything gone haywired due to transport issue.
Luckily today Owein is going on an excursion. Long day for him. I do not need to go pick him till 2:45pm hence I got a bit of time to relax and only need to concentrate on Oswald's activity. Being a Thursday today, got to bring Oswald to school earlier for his remedial and send lunch down for him.
Went to pick Owein up after Odin woke from his nap. It was a hot afternoon. I was melting in the heat on my way to school. I thought I could take some rest after we got home before we get busy again to bring the boys for their music class. But I guess I was wrong. I received a call from Oswald's teacher just moments after I got home with Owein. I was told that Oswald fell and was in great pain. I rush out immediately with my FIL to check out the situation.
As I walked to school, I'd prayed hard that it would not be a fracture. Hoping that if was just a deep scratch etc. We meet his teacher at the office and were brought to the sick bay to get Oswald. Poor boy was crying so hard while holding his hand. I went to calm him and took a look at his hand and knew immediately what I hope not to happen had happened.
We brought Oswald home after calming him down, got him changed and we headed down to KKH to get his arm checked. This time Odin get to tag along cos he got to follow his milk source. Just as we were leaving, got a message from JM that he is nearing Singapore. Thank god for his timely arrival. As least another person to depend on or to seek advise.
Zhenyang and Perle had dropped by to provide support. They arrived shortly after we reached. While waiting for X-ray result and a doctor to see us, Zhenyang had explained the possible outcomes to Oswald. Glad that he was around to help explain situation which I believe had help to calm Oswald down a little.
Odin had also been a very cooperative baby. He fell asleep while we were in the cab and continue to nap awhile longer after we arrived. He woke up just when the doctor called for Oswald. Handed him over to my FIL and went into the doctor's room with Oswald. X-ray result had shown that his fracture had affect both the XXX and YYY. A cast would be required to facilitate healing.
Zhenyang and Perle gave us a ride back after everything is done. We reached home by around 6:30pm. Thank god for them. The queue at the taxi stand at KKH was terrible. Don't think we would make it home that soon if not for them. JM came home shortly after that. I am really relief that he is home finally. I am totally drained physically and mentally due to all these happenings in the past few days.
How can that many things all happen at then same time? From the accident on Sunday to the mishap that Oswald had ... All within the same week. Don't know what to say. All I wish now is for Oswald to recover quickly, get my car back soon and revert back to my peaceful lifestyle. Too much things for me to absorb this week. Need a break. Need to recharge!!!

Today Owein is going for an excursion and he will be away till 2:45pm. Not sure if he like the lunch served in school hence I'd decided to pack a snack box for him just in case.
Had wanted to let Owein try the fish shaped cake that I have bought recently. A Korean snack which I had spotted at CHEERS. Chewy and soft with chocolate fillings. YUMZ :) Made cats using Kueh Bulu to match the fish.

Bento #32 - Row Row Row Your Boat ...

BUT ... watch out for the crocodiles and look out for the jungle animals that are hiding.
Had not have much inspiration this week. Making use of picks to help brighten up the box and to give it a theme.
Hubby is out of town + I've got no car to use. Had been a physically draining week for me. Though it is only mid week, I am tired out already. Looking forward to tomorrow for hubby's return.

Seems like I am able to blog more often when hubby is not in town hahaha. I guess mainly is due to the fact that I got no time to sit by the computer in the day. And when I am free enough to do so, hubby will be using it all the way till bedtime. Oh well ... lesser complains from me I guess =)
Day 2 of bring Owein to school by bus, walking to the market from school and walking back home from market then once again walk all the way to school to pick up Owein and end our journey with a bus ride. Been using lots of leg power ... not sure how long I can keep up with it. Gotten too used to driving here and there. Now without a car, kinda feel a little handicap. Now, I only hope the repairs would go on smoothly and I can get the car back earlier than expected.
Just finish preparing the boys' bento for Bento Wednesday. Got to wake up earlier than usual to complete the final touches for Owein's box. Time to hit the pillows and brace myself for more walking exercise!!!

Exploring Rafferty's Garden Baby Food
Came across this new brand (Rafferty's Garden) while I was browsing through the baby food section in NTUC in search for other types of convininent food for Odin.
What attracted me to it??

Gone Sailing - Day 2
Mondays = Monday Blues = Hectic schedule ahead till car is ready.
Never like Mondays and now making it worse, I've got no car to use and hubby not in town and I had not heard from him since we part at the accident scene yesterday. Oh well, whatever it is, daily life still continues.
Got to head out 20 minutes earlier than usual from today onward to send Owein to school. Guess who is the happy one ... Owein of course because he gets to take the bus to school. I really got to pray hard for good weather this period of time.
Dropped Owein off at school, I headed off to the market (on foot) to do my daily marketing. Walked all the way home and managed to get back in time to see to Odin's bath and breakfast.
The car workshop people dropped by in the afternoon to get me sign some document. After a short conversation, I was told my car probably got to be down for about 14 days. Yes ... 14 days ... which will equate to about 2.5 weeks. I wander if I can maintain the current schedule for that long. We shall see ...
Finally got news from JM at 10:30pm. So glad to hear from him. Glad to know that he is alright and had gotten him to fill me with the missing bits and pieces. Like me, he also had some stiffness around neck and shoulder area but other than that he is alright. Can't wait to see him on Thursday. 3 more days to go!!!

Gone Sailing - Day 1
I had almost freaked out when the car ahead of us brakes and in order not to slam into the car ahead, JM swirl to the left. But still he did not manage to avoid contact with the car ahead and to make matter worse, we got hit at the back too. Every thing happened so fast and I got a baby in shock and is crying. All I could think of is to calm the baby down 1st.
We were travelling along PIE toward Changi heading to Changi Naval Base. JM had to sail out for exercise and we are dropping him off there because his car is at the spray paint shop.
The last I had such great impact in an accident happened probably 10 years back. Never thought I would experience it ever again though this time was much lesser compared to back then but impact was great enough. My heart was still pumping hard when JM pulled the car to the side. Other than me telling myself to calm Odin down, I cannot think of any thing else. KUDOs to JM who still can think logically to pull the car aside and get off to settle logistics. After Odin stop crying, the next time was to look for help because the car does not feel right when JM was driving it to the side. I worried that he cannot report to Changi in time.
Called Perle then as I remembered that she and ZY had plans to head to Thomson area. Pretty near to where the accident scene (Jln Eunos). Luckily they are in that area still and had came to our rescue. After they arrived, Odin and myself got into their car and ZY drop us all off at his friend's place which is just round the corner before heading out to help out JM. But JM managed to settle logistics and manage to get the workshop people to send him to Changi. I was a little disappointed that I did not manage to see him after matters are settled but I knew he was rushing for time hence just gave him a call to make sure that he was alright.
I do hope he is really ok. Muscles around my neck area started to ache a little. So I am pretty sure he is probably having some aches somewhere. Just hope it is nothing serious. As for Odin, poor little fellow, I am sure he was in shock back then. I am only worried he might be aching or in pain somewhere. Guess I will have to monitor him closely and go slow on him for at least a day or 2.
Traumatizing experience I say ... still can't get the scene off my mind. Just pray hard that everything will be settled smoothly and no hiccups.

Term 3, Week 4 already ... almost half way through the term. After so much 'activity' from last week, I am feeling kinda drained out but can't stop here got to continue to MOVE IT!!!!

Monday blues ... just wanted to rest my mind over the weekend hence not much effort was put in to prepare today's snack box for Oswald.
I just took 2 store bought buns, place them in silicon cups and use picks to brighten it up.
Ahem ... pardon me for the wrong spelling. But I only kinda realized that my other 'M' was missing after I spell the word swim. I was running out of time and hence lazy to think of another word to change to. Close one eye and poked in the 'ing' and sent Oswald to school with the wrong spelling bento ... LOL!!!

Finally found the motivation to get this mouse off my to-do list. Cute right?
The person I copied from made a mouse shaped sandwich. I copied the idea and use it as a decorative piece on my bread I prepared for the boys. Some how the mouse I prepared for Oswald has the 'sotong' look hahaha did not realized it till I had a closer look. Oh well ... they still look adorable don't they.

Little CHICKS!!!
Wasted a few pieces of bread trying to make the perfect triangle shape using the onigiri rice mould. Luckily I did not have much during dinner hence all those failed pieces had gone in to my tummy as supper =P
Tried making apple bunnies for Oswald. It seems so easy when I saw the tutorial online. I got to try so hard to avoid damaging the skin. Maybe I should practice more to get it right.

Bento #30 - Bento Overload!!!
This is the start of my bento overload weeks. From this week on, I've got extra days to prepare food - Mondays and Thursdays.
Oswald starting his swimming program as part of school curriculum on Monday and on Thursday, he got to head school earlier for his Chinese remedial class. This means, mummy got to prepare bentos for almost every single day of the week now except for Tuesdays ... OFF DAY ... hahaha

Today is Oswald's birthday ... HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY my boy. Today is also the Oswald 1st swimming lesson at The Singapore Sports School. Because it is his birthday, I got 1 less bento to prepare.
Oswald's bento for recess today is replaced by donuts from JCo. Donuts. Mummy is giving everyone in Oswald's class a treat because it is his birthday!!!
I am all set and geared up to take pictures and help distribute donuts but and unexpected situation turned up and was left with no choice but to let teacher distribute the donuts and drop off the photo taking idea.
What's the unexpected situation???
Oswald dropped his underwear while dressing up after the swim and wet it. Not wanting him to feel uncomfortable, I got no choice but to rush home to get another one for him. Thank god we stay nearby. Phew ...
After donuts session in school, it is time to head back to put Odin to bed and to start preparing his on the go Monday dinner. Since it is his birthday, I'd decided to make something nice for him but brain cramp ... only came up with this after flipping through my bento books for idea.

Managed to take a break yesterday as there are no activities on tuesdays and is a non bento day. Though not much work was needed to be done, I'd spent my free hours brainstorming for bento ideas for today's bento. Finally decided to do a bento lift from an idea which I spotted online awhile back.
猪兄弟一同上学去了. The original creator had used ham to make the pigs but I am not so comfortable with the idea. I recreated the pigs using bread. Luckily it turned out not too bad. Happy pigging my boys =D

Starting this Thursday, Oswald have to go school earlier for Chinese remedial lessons. This means mummy got to bring lunch down to school for him. Not sure how much time my slow eater have left after class to eat, I decided to pack sandwiches for easy eating. Made ham and cheese sandwiches (Oswald's favorite) + Sausages n Dried Cherries. Let's blasts off to space with Anpanman :)

Last night was really a chaotic night. Got to head out after dinner to get bread for breakfast and bento cause I totally forgotten about it in the day. Then I got a cranky baby who refuse to sleep. If baby no sleep, I cannot pack the boys bento.
In the end got to settle for a quick fix bento to accommodate my cranky baby.
Owein's box (left) - Dorayaki from Four Leaves Bakery ... his favorite. A happy/funny face for this cheeky boy.
Oswald's box (right) - Cranberry Cheese Bun from Four Leaves Bakery. Decided on a frustrated face because Oswald did not want to bring bento to school today because he wants to head to the library. Mummy said NO, and he just got to learn to manage his time. =p

Can't can the round shape off my mind and naturally it had wandered off to make this pirate face which was stored in my To Do List for a long long time.
Ahoy Matey!!! Did a bad copy and not exactly very please with the result but passable lah cos boys can tell is pirate.
End of week 2 already. Got to start getting busy from next week on. More meals to plan for and more bentos to pack with Oswald starting swimming lesson on Mondays as part of school curriculum and his Chinese remedial on Thursdays.

June Rumbles
Can't believe it that June holidays had ended and Term 3 of school starts TOMORROW!!!
Although there is no need to prepare bentos or make bread, I never seem to be able to enjoy the holiday except for a short trip to Philea Resort, Melaka. That 3 days 2 night stay at the resort was the closest 'break' I had during this holiday. After that short break, my June holidays are packed with the boys' activities @ CDAC centre. Though it is tiring having to shutter around, but I think it would be much better than letting the boys stay home. The boys seems to have heaps of energy that never runs out. If they are to stay home the whole day, I think I will go crazy for sure.
Weather had not been at its best of late too. It is so hot that I can't survive without air con. Not a good sign especially that I have got to spend time outdoors. To make matter worse, the hot weather triggered my migraine and almost everyday got to take panadol. I seriously hope the weather will cool off soon.
Despite the busy schedule, I still manage to squeeze out some time to bake. Hands get itchy and just have to bake something. I had made a batch of Blueberry Crumble Cupcakes for JM's colleague who had invited us over for a house warming party. I also did an experimental bake during this period. Using the Yuzu Chiffon Cake recipe, I'd changed some of the ingredients and make a Berry flavored one instead. Surprisingly, it tasted not bad ... another alternative flavor for chiffon cakes.
Oh well, believe it not, school holiday is ending. Had a great time this holiday despite the busy schedule. Spend great times with close friends and my boys. Now is back to reality, back to sending the boys to school and chasing after them for homework.
P/S: Had not have the chance to sort out pictures that were taken. Will upload the pics when I have the chance :)

Bento #27
Kinda realized that I had not been updating on the bentos that I'd made. But then again, recent bentos are not really fancy. I had been concentrating on baking of late and had kind of neglected bento planning. I got hooked to making bread just not too long ago, now ... I am into swiss rolls!!! I wander when I will stick my head back to some serious bentoing once again ...

I'd named this - Nutella Dumplings. Simply because I'd used a dumpling mold to shape my bread which is filled with nutella.

Recipe - Yuzu Chiffon Cake
Bakers in Munch Ministry - The Baker's Club had started a CHIFFON CAKE storm and I am so inspired by it. Had a bottle of Yuzu Tea paste in the fridge and wanted to quickly finish using it. I'd search around for the right recipe to use and finally found it last night.
Can't wait to get started on this Yuzu experiment. Gotten my ingredients before picking Owein up from school and started on my project after lunch. The thing I like about making chiffon cake is, it is really a very simple cake to piece together. Prep work is fuss free and cleaning up is easy too.
Gotten everything into my chiffon tin and send it for baking within 30 mins. After 40 mins of baking ...
This cake is really yummy. Texture is soft and nice with a hint of yuzu taste. Love this recipe to the max and can't wait to share it here.
Going to make more tomorrow for SIL and friends. Hope they like it as much as I do.

Odin @ 6 mths
Odin is 1/2 way to his 1st birthday!!!
Time flies really fast ... can't believe it that Odin is 6 mths old now. The ups and downs of pregnancy and scenes at the hospital during delivery is still so fresh in my mind.
This little bunny is growing fast and growing well. He is also a very alert boy. He is always watching out for his elder brothers and checking out everyone else at home. Likes to get people's attention and would make sure he gets your attention when he want to.
He is so LOVED by everyone. Hope he will grow up well and learn to love everyone back.

An unexpected bento day. The boys slept late because we reached home late after dinner at TMM. Everyone slept in as it was my MIL who had followed us up instead. She does not gets up as early as my FIL and hence the lost of time in the morning. I almost jumped up from my bed when my alarm rang at 7:45am. Luckily Odin was still sleeping then. This gave me time to wake MIL and Owein up and to pack a last min bento for Owein. Waking at this time, does not allow Owein to have breakfast before heading off to school. So, breakfast will be at school with whatever mummy can pack into the box last minute.
Raisin bread + Oreo Cookies + Cheese ... beautify the box with barans and use silicon cups to fill up space. Another typical no planning and anything goes bento.

Bento Wednesday!!! Our planned bento day but mummy is super busy this morning and to make matter worse, I had arranged for a long over due breakfast session with my GFs and MIL is not around in the morning. SIGH ... this equates to a very rush morning for me. Having to juggle a few matters in the short period of time.
Anyway, since today is planned bento day, some prep work had been done the night before for both the boys' boxes. Only need to touch up this morning to complete it.
FIL called this the Flying Bear and so it shall be. Had wanted to copy an angel bear idea I saw online but was too lazy to work with cheese for the bear and used the bear baran instead. The only thing I managed to copy is to give the bear wings ... with that, my bear indeed look more like a 'flying' bear instead of an angel. LOL.
After dropping off Owein at school, I headed home to get Odin and Oswald ready to head out to meet my GFs. Odin goes where the mummy cow goes without saying and Oswald, had to follow so that he can grab a bite before it is time for him to go school. Mummy is staying out till it is time to pick Owein up from school.
When we all reached home, I quickly threw in the orange and dried cherries into Oswald's box and off he goes to school. Only then I manage to sit down and take a break.

GREAT!!! Today Oswald's turn to sleep in ... missed his time for breakfast and missed his chance to eat his favorite homemade 肉干面包. He had asked to bring it to school for recess and mummy gave in. After my usual morning rituals, I started working on Oswald's bento.
Totally hate uncalled for bentos and totally hated unplanned, no concept bentos. And don't know what's wrong with me recently ... had been having bento block. SIGH ... with that limited time and limited thoughts, I just stared at my tools and do the best I could to fill up space and to beautify.
As if I was not depressed enough for not getting my mojo back for bento-ing, I was haunted by a bad migraine. By nightfall, I'd swallowed 4 panadol extras and yet it is still there. Mind can't thing and function and only when I decided to hit my pillows for the night, then I realized I had not prepared anything for the boys' bento tomorrow. DIE!!! Got no extra bread for bento making too ... ARGH!!! But my head is too pain to think so much.

It is snack galore for the boys today due to my slight overlook yesterday. Only got picture of Owein's box as mummy forgotten to take a snap shot of Oswald's. Aftermath of a terrible migraine yesterday ... brain still not functioning properly.

An unexpected bento day. The boys slept late because we reached home late after dinner at TMM. Everyone slept in as it was my MIL who had followed us up instead. She does not gets up as early as my FIL and hence the lost of time in the morning. I almost jumped up from my bed when my alarm rang at 7:45am. Luckily Odin was still sleeping then. This is the smile that greets me almost everyday these days ...
This smile really brightens up my day. I am really grateful and thankful that I am blessed with 3 beautiful and great boys. Though they can really be naughty at times and sometimes the things they do really make me boiling mad but I am still glad that they are part of my life.
Hope all 3 of them will grow up to be loving brothers and will be able to watch out for each other. I love you all my 3 O-s ... Oswald, Owein and Odin.

Love the power of online shopping. Not only you can get cheaper things (including shipping) compared to local suppliers, you get stuffs that local suppliers do not have.
Had been searching for the silicon lettuce look a like cups for a long time but no one seems to be carrying it till I spotted them at this site. No need to waste lettuce to fill up space in my bentos anymore :)
Oh oh oh ... I also gotten myself a dinosaur cutter!!! Yesh, finally!!! Boys are so crazy over dinosaurs and now finally can make something dinosaur for them. Hmm ... let me see when.

Bento #25 - Crazy Week
Nothing turned out the way it was planned this week. Hated this kinda situation ... period!!!

Made bread again yesterday and had decided to try making some character buns for the fun of it. Made some bear shaped buns and after dressing it up, it looks like this in Owein's box.
BUT ... this box did not make its way to Owein's school. WHY?? Because, FIL had given him a lot to eat during breakfast at home and I really doubt that Owein will be able to eat up another bun at snack time in school at 9am. MAD!!! Really was mad ... This box ended up became Oswald's breakfast. --> This is the 1st uneventful event that had happened this week.
Headed out to pick Owein up from school as usual and the moment I step foot into the house, heard Oswald crying very very sadly. Initially I thought he had gotten some punishment from grandpa for misbehaving or something. But it ended up to be that he is crying due to pain - toothache. This result to a mad rush trying to call the clinic to get an appointment and to inform school that he will be absent and to rush down to the dentist. All I can say is HELL BROKE LOSE!!! Mad rush for everyone to get ready to head out to the dentist. --> Uneventful event #2.
At the dentist, it turned out that the filling of his rotting tooth cracked and had exposed the nerves and hence created the pain. Result, Oswald got to suffer a jab to numb that area, which he almost had screamed the clinic down, and had that tooth extracted. Check out his rotten tooth!!! This boy, mouth full of bad teeth ... can't wait for all his baby teeth to drop off.

Had wanted to make more character buns for today's bento but my attempt failed badly. Had attempted to make hedgehog buns but FAIL!!! Look so ugly, decided not to use them at all. So, it is bear once again and this time, made use of an egg mold to help shape the bread.
This box is packed for Owein as that was all I could managed last night. Uneventful event #3 - Oswald had another toothache!!! Oh yes ... another episode of last min appointment making and made rush to the dentist. To make matter worse, got to wait till this morning then can call to see if there's any available appointment ... the anticipation, the wait, the anger ... all come together. Totally had no mood to do up another bento (Oswald's box) when we discover Oswald's toothache is due to a hole in his tooth and definitely got to make it to the dentist.
Managed to secure an appointment at 10:30am for Oswald to see the dentist. Mad rush to get Odin ready and head down to the clinic. The only relief is that we managed to get his tooth fixed and be back in time to pick Owein up from school at 11:30am.
Crazy way to end the week. Hardly had a moment of 'peace' in the past few days. Everyday I got to mad rush over something. SIGH ... but luckily friends had ask us out for dinner and I'd gladly agreed to it. Finally can sit down and eat in peace. No need to rush, no need to worry, just take my time to eat and relax. Though I had to carry Odin in my arm throughout dinner, but at least he was fast asleep.

Odin's update
Time really flies ... Odin is about 5+ mths old now.
Gotten this rabbit soft toy to measure his growth. 2 little bunnies side by side ... cute right :p
This little boy is growing very well and had started to eat puree fruits and rice cereal already. He flips over onto his tummy like no body's business and he is doing the army crawl to get to things that he want. Very soon, this little bunny will be crawling all over. See, he is already starting to train up his arms for this coming milestone ...

Term 2, week 5 ... half way through the term already. Still have 5 more weeks to go but how ... mummy is losing steam for bento making. Been concentrating too much on bread making these days :)

Made an assortment of bread yesterday and hence, the boys are bringing homemade bread to school again!!!

Thought it would be good to take a break from homemade bread and hence bought a loaf of bread for the boy's bento today. But as I was preparing their boxes, my mind really went blank. I kept asking myself how should I dress up their box. Sad to say, nothing came up and got to rely on cookie cutters. Picked out a cutter to match the box.
Threw in some gummies, nutella brownies and raisin for Owein's box. Forgotten to take a picture of Oswald's box :p

Thought it would be good to take a break from homemade bread and hence bought a loaf of bread for the boy's bento today. But as I was preparing their boxes, my mind really went blank. I kept asking myself how should I dress up their box. Sad to say, nothing came up and got to rely on cookie cutters. Picked out a cutter to match the box.

Baking Frenzy
Can't wait to try out my new oven and I went on a baking frenzy.
The new oven is 1 week old only and I am already working it hard. I had been using the steam function to reheat food and to steam dishes. The steam function is really very good and it frees up my stove area for other purposes and hence cooking time is really maximized.
I also had been baking bread like crazy and fell in love with the proof function that is available. Now time spend on bread making is much more controlled and predictable.

My 2 days old oven is working today once again and is working very hard. It was being used to bake a Japanese Cheesecake and after that, use to proof dough for my bread and is use to produce these bakes ...

It is bread making day today ... WHY?? So that my boys can have homemade bread in their bento to bring school. Decided to use my favorite Hokkaido Milk Bread recipe (taken from 陳郁芬65C 湯種麵包) to make bread because this recipe can yield quite a far bit of bread. I adjusted the flour portion to incorporate wheat flour into it :)
Hubby requested for 肉干 Buns and having done some research on bread shaping recently, I can't wait to try it out.
This is what I get from 1 portion of the recipe. Quite a fair bit of bread isn't it? Left the buns in the oven a little too long and hence they look a bit more 'tan'. Shape of the buns turned out quite ok too. The only thing is that the chocolate chip I use as the worm's eyes did not managed to stay on (see below for the 'before' look) and I think got to find another way to 'shape' the 肉干 Buns. Don't really like how they look.

Using the Hokkaido Milk Bread recipe, made 2 loaves of toast bread and use the remaining dough to make 肉干 Buns. This time shaping the buns differently and I like this look better. 肉干 Buns are very well received by Oswald and Owein. They each had 1 immediately after they got back from their music lesson. The remaining will be for breakfast tomorrow and for Oswald's bento box.

1st time trying out Black Sesame Bread ... bread texture and taste is nice but it is not really my kind of bread. So, don't think I will make it again unless someone request for it. The 肉干 Buns I made on Thursday was a HIT. The pathetic 5 buns I made was snapped out in the morning. Since I am all alone at home with Odin on this Saturday afternoon and there is still 肉干 left, I'd decided to made more for my boys and hubby to indulge in.
This batch of buns are make using 陳郁芬65C 湯種麵包 basic sweet bread recipe. Shall wait for hubby to be back to do tasting and see how it is. But from the looks, it seems ok.
