Carla Craft Punches

I've just added more craft punch to my bento tools collection!!!

Got a real good deal today at Iseatan NEX. Got a booth there selling Carla Craft Punches at a very good deal and the price is too attractive to resist.

Picked up a set of Alpha Punches at only $40 UP is $156. With that, I've gotten the box of punches beside the alpha set FREE. Picked up 2 other different design and my total bill is about $54. Very good deal right =)

At the bottom are 2 sandwich cutters with I spotted at Kiddy Palace. Yes, Kiddy Palace ... a place well know for selling kids products from clothes to toys to daily essentials. The reason why I can find sandwich cutters there is because is it a product of Munchkin.

Did not expect myself to start on this week's theme that soon but I simply cannot resist trying this out. Moreover, my PIL had came back to my place with a loaf of burger buns ... simply can't find any excuse not to start on this.

Made this Giant Ladybug for the boys' lunch today.

Copied this idea from a new book that I bought recently. Book titled: Fun Food for Kids by Page One Publishing. I'd altered some ingredients used to suit the taste of my boys. Dressed it up a little and VIOLA. I am very please with the result. BTW, noticed my new bees and ladybug picks?? Ain't they pretty :)

Had been wanting to do a caterpillar bento for a long time but just could not find the chance to. Finally my chance arrived but I kinda ruined it.

Presenting my UGLY Green Caterpillar ...

Borrowed a book from the library titled "The Green Caterpillar" and Owein loves the story. So though of making him a green caterpillar and it ended looking disastrous. Used my newly bought Wilton Mist Spray to give the Chocolate Steam Buns a coat of green but it did not turned out the way I wanted. No time to redo the buns for Owein hence sent him to school with his ugly caterpillar.

So when I was preparing Oswald's box, I decided to put my mist spray aside and my caterpillar turned BROWN because it is Chocolate flavored buns.

Hahaha hilarious right ... maybe I should just used Pandan flavored buns in the future.

Playing with Pancakes!!!

Saw a clip on YouTube teaching how to make interesting food for kids using pancakes. It is very easy but just need a little longer time compared to making the usual pancakes as there are 2 'step' to it. 1st you draw the outline of the shape you want then let it cook a little before filling up the spaces.

This morning, honey bees and flowers greeted my boys at breakfast.

Pretty isn't it. Plan to do this again ... it is so fun making the pancakes.

Another bad bento day within the same week. Sigh ... maybe I should slow down a bit on bento-ing to charge up my mind. Used up too much to brainstorm for ideas hahaha

Attempted to make snails for the boys but FAIL FAIL FAIL. Not only it does not look like the ones I saw on the internet, Owein's snail look like monsters and Oswald's had very funny expressions.

An a little disappointed with how the bentos had turned out :( Sigh ...

Oh well, its over and no matter how it turned out, the boys enjoyed it. Going to head to Port Dickson tomorrow for a weekend break. Hope I will be able to relax a little and get some mojo back. That's all for now :]

Bento #15

Suddenly got mood to prepare dinner for the boys tonight and plan to make it a 'fun' dinner for them. But I have not came up with a theme for this week's bentos. How??? Then mummy just any how make just to make it pretty loh hehehe

Why the need to do so?? That's because mummy plan to serve Salmon to the boys for dinner and Oswald is not a FISH lover.

Marinated my salmon slices in thick Teriyaki Sauce hoping that it would cover the fishy taste. Made Tamago with Carrot and Ham again to 'trick' Owein and to make him eat more vegetables. Added on some frozen food - Chicken Karaage and Chicken Cheese Balls - to give the boys a variety. Oh and not forgetting my Broccoli - Oswald's favorite. Piece them all together and this is what I had ...

Glad that it turned out well. The boys had finished all their food except for a few pieces of broccoli, a piece of chicken and 1/2 a cheese ball left on Owein's plate. But hey, Owein's plate is at full as Oswald's ... what can I expect. He had done quite a good job in clearing his plate I say ^_^.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Though today is not bento day but I still decided to make bento for my boys to tell them mummy loves them on this special day. Sent the boys to school with an envelope fill with love.

Both boys get exactly the same bento but I personalized their bento by placing their name on the envelope. Hope they enjoy their V-Day bento and can feel mummy's love for them.

After finish the boy's bento, of course cannot leave out the biggest one ... but since I need not pack a box for hubby, hence just made a simple one for hubby.

On hubby's place is 肉干面包 with a Heart Sausage.

Happy V-Day to my 3 lovely BOYS!!! :p

Bento Wednesday once again.Sending the boys to school with chocolate hearts today.

In Owein's box, he got Nutella Chocolate Hearts with Heart Sausages and Fruit Loops. Feel so chocolaty ... YUMZ.

For Oswald, he wanted it plain so he can taste the original taste of the bread. How silly ... but mummy packed his box up with plain Chocolate Hearts + Heart Sausages + a Pineapple Tart as a treat.

Bento mojo is working me up ... I had not been working that hard since arrival of Odin. Now once I'd started preparing 'dressed up' meals for my boys, I can't seem to stop. For the boy's dinner, they have Baked Chicken Mushroom Rice. With simple wordings "Mummy <3 You' sent the boys beaming away.

Dinner on the go for Oswald tonight.

Made Tamago using my HCP =D. Simply love this pan and it is so easy to make Tamagoyaki using it. All I did was to add Ham and Carrot into the egg mixture and pour everything onto the pan. Let it cooked till about 90% then can start to roll away. For his rice, is it wrap with carrot strips instead of nori cos he is not a fan of it.

TGIF!!! Running out of ideas to present mummy's love to the boys on this Valentine's Week. Made something really really very simple for the boys today.

Simple Heart Shape Sandwich with Rainbow Sparkles + Rice Crackers and Biscuits for Owein.

Oswald had to bring fruits to school today hence made Roses out of Strawberries for him and to house them, left me not much space for his bread. That explains the small hearts you see in Oswald's box.


Finally the week had ended and I am drained out of ideas already. Time to take a break and slowly brain storm for my theme next week =)

Owein n QB House

Headed down to Junction 10 for groceries shopping and Owein gets to tag along. Had a good time with that cheeky boy at the supermarket. On our way to the car park, we walked pass QB House and he told us that he want to have a hair cut there. Since it is about time for a hair cut and no on is in queue, hubby decided to let him have a try.

Took $10 from daddy, bought his own ticket and sat at the bench to wait for his turn. He is all so excited about his new adventure. Told him to smile at the camera, he came out with lots of funny poses.

He sure is 1 happy boy exploring this new place.

My Pride, My Joy

Had been updating my blog with my Bentos and haven't been writing much about my 3 boys lately. All thanks to my addiction to bento making.

Oswald, Owein and Odin ... my 3 Os.

Lovely bunch of kids and having a love, hate relationship with them. At times when they really gets onto my nerve, I will be screaming at them at the top of my voice at every possible minute. At times, I can't stop smiling at them beaming from ear to ear. KIDS ... what can I say.

More Tools =)

Met up with my GFs for morning tea and 顺便 went Daiso to have a look. I only spend about 15 mins in there because got to rush back to pick Owein from school. But this 15 mins is good enough to create a tiny 'damage' ... why damage when I only picked up 2 items from there??

Reason: I AM NOT SUPPOSE TO BUY ANY MORE BENTO STUFFS!!!

But ... cannot resist!!! hahahaha

This is not all ... come end of the day, we headed off to FoodFare at Clementi Mall for dinner and landed myself with 2 more bento boxes. Not like I've not enough but the boxes are just too cute to resist and they only cost $3.

How to get it?? Top up $3 to any kids meal you purchase in the food court at any stalls. Check out the kids menu and the boxes ...

Cute right ... how to resist :p

This week's bento theme is ... Under the Sea. Decided to do a bento-lift and hence set this theme for this week.

Today is the last day of CNY, 元宵节. As usual, our family will gather to have a meal together. This year, 元宵节 falls on a Monday. To make it easy, we decided to eat out and had chosen Dragon Phoenix Restaurant @ Clarke Quey for dinner. Afraid that dinner may start late and the boys will be hungry, I made bento for the boy and bento-lift the idea I saw before.

1st picture is bento for Oswald and the one below is Owein's box. Everything packed is the same for the boys except for the meat. Oswald have Chicken Karaage and Owein, Fish Fingers. Oswald would prefer chicken to fish and Owein vice versa and that explains the different type of meat packed.

Bento Wednesday!!!

The boys get a 'sea' view with today's bento.

A simple breakfast for Owein this morning. Sandwich with a view ... he got Nutella sandwich + Octodogs (Pork Sausages).

Recess break for Oswald is similar too. But he got Strawberry Jam in his sandwich and got extra snacks - Pineapple Tarts and Gummies.

Made a bonus bento for Oswald today. Not sure why I am in the mood ... just decided to make something nice for Oswald to eat in the car on his way to piano lesson. Consider this as a BONUS for him hehehe.

Presenting ... Missy Octopus as Oswald's meal on the go today.

Missy Octopus is made from ham from an illustration from Yum Yum Bento Book. Rice balls with ham and 1/2 and egg coated with Pork Floss as sea bed and his favorite vegetable Broccoli to fill up the gaps.

'Fishy' business today to end my this week theme.

Owein had requested for a repeat of his Wednesday bento and hence requested granted. P/S: save me some brain juice cos not need to brainstorm what to do.

This time, he wanted peanut butter spread on his bread ... wish granted. Paired with his bread are 2 'Fishy' Pork Sausages and Raisins.

For Oswald, he wanted to bring fruits (Blueberries + Oranges) to school for his weekly Fruits and Vegetables day. In order to ensure he can finish his food fast and eat his fruits, I'd decided to pack a lesser amount of bread and in bite site.

Took out my fish cutter to cut bread in the fish shape and made plans to add details to his fishes. Sort of regretted my decision when I was placing the details this morning. I think I will think twice next time when such details are required in the future. But seriously, I am quite satisfied with the final result. =)


Oh well, that marks the last bento that I am gona make this week. Got to think what theme to use for next week ... time for some brainstorming ...

The Most "IN" Hand Accessory

Today, is Owein's turn to go see a doctor. He is coughing again and sounded quite bad. While I was at the doctor with Owein, I had also ask her for a second opinion on my injured tendon and to find out what would the prescription be if I had gone to see a GP instead.

I was told that for such cases, usually patients would be given anti inflammation medication and some steroid medication (or cream, which I cannot remember) as treatment. Too bad, there isn't a 100% confirmation that such medication would be safe while breastfeeding and hence doctor said not advisable unless I insist. The only other thing now I can do is to get a wrist guard to protect the injured area to prevent it from getting hurt again.

So, off I went to the nearest pharmacy to get myself this piece of "IN" accessory. Got to put it on for awhile or till at least my hand does not hurt that much.

Injured Tendon

Finally cannot bear with the pain and had decided to go see a doctor. Since it is a Sunday, my only option is to see a Chinese physician. Conclusion was to go check out the TCM by Eu Yan San at Bukit Panjang Plaza and also to have dinner there.

1st time ever seeing a Chinese physician and this is what I got after stepping out of the doctor's room.

My right hand bandaged up with some medicine inside and to remained wrapped up for the next 10 hours and cannot get it wet. This means, I can only remove it at about 6:30am tomorrow morning. Luckily I can sleep away the 10 hours ... cannot imagine if I had gone to see the doctor in the morning instead.

On top of the 'wrap', I was also given sachets of medicine powder for the next 7 days and to drink it twice a day. Got to dissolve it in warm water and drink it. OMG ... never ever like the taste of Chinese medication BUT NO CHOICE. My 1st dose - tried to finish the whole cup at one go but I failed. Simply cannot swallow the last mouthful and got to spit it out. Luckily I was taking it just by the sink.

It is Friday once again and is Bento update time ^_^.

Enough of CNY goodies though I still got heaps at home. This week I'd decided to use store bought buns as my main 'ingredient' in my bentos.

MIL bought some chocolate 花卷 (flower rolls) for the boys and still have some leftovers lying in my fridge. Since the boys like it and I'd included it into their bento today.

Was discussing on where the cute elephant biscuits were purchased from in a FB group for bento-ers and got inspired to use elephants to decorate up my boy's bento.

Keeping in line with this week's main ingredient of store bought buns, the boys get to bring one of their favorite bun from Four Leaves. Once again, accessories are used to give the final touches.

New addition ...

Had been wanting to head to Daiso at IMM for a long while but never had the chance to do so and had been pushing it off. Finally cannot hole back the urge anymore and had decided to make a quick dash there before picking Owein up from school.

Managed to pick up a new set of picks. The last packet there and was kinda being hidden behind other packets of picks. I am a happy mama ^_^
