SEPANG ... here I COME!!!

5:00am ... a large cup of mocha-cino from McCafe marks the start of my day on a Saturday.

I guess the heading of my post would have already hint you why I am up so early drinking coffee. Oh yes ... I am heading to Sepang ... a dreadful place to me (just kidding ^_^) but heaven to my lovely hub.

Today is one of those Sepang track day trip with hubby. As track session is from 9:00am to 12:00pm, we got leave early to cater for the approximate 2 hour+ drive to Sepang.

8:20am we finally arrived at Sepang!!!

After registration and driver's briefing ... it is time to get ready for track practice. Each driver were assigned with a number and darling's number is No. 33!!!

All done ... and off to the track!!!

While JM is having fun on track, I've decided to stay put in the pits :p

Sounds boring right ... but seriously I am enjoying myself because I was all prepared!!! Packed with our portable DVD player, I was enjoying myself with my K-Drama while my man is out having fun ^_^.

More K-Music ^_^

Starhub CH 146 is my favourite channel now. I am on hot pursuit of the programmes Showbiz Extra and Pops in Seoul airing in the channel. This is where you can get updates of the latest korean entertainment news and MV.

During the recent showtimes, this song titled No Other by Super Junior caught my attention. A very catchy and cute song ...

K-Pop Craze

Hmm ... ok ... I got a confession to make ...

I think I am suffering from a post drama effect after watching 原来是美男 (He's Beautiful). It had happened once before, when I completed 花样男子 (Boys over Flowers), but it is happening again!!! Wahaha ...

The catchy music in the drama had gotten my attention and to make things worse, the cast in the show are singers too. Oh ya ... that made me dug more into the OST of the show and even songs each singers.

My favourite character in the show is Kang Shin Woo and the person behind this role is Jung Yong Hwa - lead singer of the Korean group C.N Blue.

Now, I am hooked to 2 songs by this group (other than the songs in the OST :p). The 2 songs are as follows ...

** C.V Blue - Love LIVE version ** Oh ... did I mention 花样男子 (Boys over Flowers) earlier ... I think I did. That show really poisoned me. Especially Kim Hyun Joong who played the role as Yoon Ji Hoo. Did a research on him after the show only to realised that he is the leader of popular boy band SS501. Recently this group had been quite active with 2 hit songs as their comeback ... ** SS501 - Love Ya LIVE version ** Kim Hyun Joong was also featured in MV for Korean Singer Gummy's new song As A Man (남자라서). Quite a nice song too ...

Hahaha ... I think I better stop ... if not the list will just go on and on ... enjoy the music ^_^

Oh yes ... it is time to FEAST once again. This time taking FIL's birthday as an excuse, we landed ourselves at LEI GARDEN (Chijmes).

JM got to know about their montly special through a friend and we thought we give it a try after view through the promotion menu. What's included in the menu are as follows:-

** Deep-fried Walnut Coated With Honey / Deepfried Crispy Silver Fish **

** Braised Shark's Fin Soup In Brown Sauce **

** Baked Live Lobster With Superior Stock Served On Crispy Noodle **

** Barbecued Peking Duck **

** Panfried Kurobuta Pork With Home Made Sauce **

** Braised Wa Wa Cabbage with Garden Green Topped In Stock **

** Fried Rice with Duck Meat Wrapped in Lotus Leaf **

And since it is a birthday celebration ... how can we miss out the cake ^_^. I'd made this Japanese Vanilla Strawberry Cake just for the occassion ...

Woh ... that is so much food for a night ... but everything is really YUM YUM YUMMY YUMZ!!!!!

Drama - 原来是美男 (He's Beautiful)

Oh yes ... I've conquer yet another K-Drama :p In fact I wasn't very keen to watch this drama reasons being:-

1) Had watched a preview of it on SCV (episode 1) and kinda thought it was so-so only.
2) The box set cover of angels n stuff ... it was kinda turned me off.

But ... the in-charge at my usual video rental shop highly recommend this show and since he had not disappoint me ever, I took his words and gave it a try. It turned out to be quite nice. There's very nice music Incorporated in the drama. Other than the usual love/hate/sacrifice plot, there's some humor in it too. Hence it was quite entertaining overall.

Go Mi Nyu is a sister-in-training. When her twin brother Go Mi Nam successfully auditions into the musical band A.N.JELL but is forced to leave for the United States to correct a botched plastic surgery effort, she is approached by his manager to pose as Mi Nam for the duration of his recovery. Against her wishes, Mi Nyu accepts in order to fulfill her brother's dream of finding their mother. Now, posing as Mi Nam, Mi Nyu enters the group A.N.JELL and meets its members; Hwang Tae Kyung, Kang Shin Woo and Jeremy.

Initially disliked by Tae Kyung, the group's leader and composer, Mi Nyu slowly falls in love with him, only to find herself entangled in a love triangle between him and Shin Woo. Jeremy also harbors a one-sided love for her despite not knowing she's a girl. As a result, all three members of A.N.JELL fall in love with Mi Nyu. Additionally, Mi Nyu finds herself rivaled against Yoo He Yi, an actress who also has feelings for Tae Kyung.

Now Mi Nyu has to wait in the "Mi Nam disguise" until he comes back from US, but its not easy due the media and paparazzi. Will she be able to hide her identity? Will she be able to keep up with this little secret that she is not a guy until the real Go Mi Nam comes back..?

Recipe - Banana Chiffon Cake

I guess I am on a baking frenzy once again ... LOL

Cake of the day is Banana Chiffon Cake ... so happen that I've got almost 'rotting' bananas in my kitchen and it would be a waste to just dump them away and hence the making of this cake.

Hmm ... so now what's next??? Hahahaha ... Luckily I got a neighbour who is ever so supportive. If not how to finish all the things I'd made in the past few days!!!

Recipe - Golden Pumpkins (黄金和果子)

Hmm ... ok ... this recipe had been sitting in my recipe file for the longest time but I've yet to find the time/chance to try it. Finally the chance had arrived ...

I am pretty sure the recipe calls for normal pumpkin (those from Australia) but due to size issue, I've decided to pick up the Japanese ones instead. My only regret is the red bean paste used. I've bought the ones from Phoon Huat, which I already know they are not the very good quality ones. But because this recipe is a try out, I feel that it would be a waste of the good red bean paste if this turn out to be a disaster. Also, I've yet to find a good commercial red bean paste suitable for such use. Anyone out there can recommend?

Anyway, this turn out to be quite easy to make. The only thing required is patience.

Drama - 宮S (Goong - Prince Hours)

After 宮 (Goong - Princess Hours), I am so deeply impressed by the story line that I had actually looked forward to the release of 宮S (Goong - Prince Hours). I was still awed over the plot and story line etc back when when I watch this drama. Now re-watching it, personally I think 宮 (Goong - Princess Hours) is still a better production over all.

Her Royal Highness, the Queen, is still unwed despite being in her early thirties. Since she is the only daughter with no prospect of bearing a child in the foreseeable future, the royal succession is left in uncertainty when the current heir to the throne meets a sudden death. As the conservative faction begins plotting for the crown, the Queen secretly searches for a new Crown Prince outside the palace walls and discovers Lee Hoon, a young man who had been making his living by delivering Chinese food, in complete ignorance of his royal heritage.

Lee Hoon is forced to compete with Lee Joon, the perfect candidate for Crown Prince strongly backed by the extended royal family. The two young men vie for the royal succession as an intricate web of conflicts, plots and schemes unfold around them.

Recipe - Lemon Cheesecake with Jam Toppings

This is the 3rd time making this cake but this time I manage to find Double Cream as per required in the recipe. Double Cream is so hard to come by especially the Cold Storage supermarket in my area are not the very big outlets. So to substitute it, I've used Bulla's Pure Cream for the past 2 attempts. When I managed to locate the required Double Cream, I cannot resist the temptation to give this cake a try again.

I am totally satisfied with the end product with Double Cream. The cake taste creamer compared to when using Pure Cream. I guess the difference is in the fat content of each product. Double Cream being the one with higher fat content hence would be my prefered choice. It makes the cake taste so creamy and smooth ... YUMZ!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OSWALD!!!!

My dearest boy turns 5 today. Big boy liao already ... he had grown so much. Looking back, it seems like it was not too long ago I was still carrying him in my arms. Now, he is all grown up and learning to be independent etc. 不认老也不行了.

Today, being his actual birthday, he gets to celebrate this special day with his friends in school. I'd ordered a cake for him from Cafe Pralet (as usual) - Mango Cake. I'd wanted them to design a 3D cake for Oswald but because they are preparing for a baking event held over the weekend they were unable to do it. Though I was a little disappointed but the cake with art work did not turn out that bad too. In fact, the cake was really good tasting and some kids even come back to extra serving.

** Mango Cake with art work on white chocolate **

As it is family tradition to celebrate birthdays together, Oswald get to skip music class today and head to grandma's place for dinner. And since we are celebrating a birthday ... the cakes cannot be left out!!!

** Mummy's creation ... prepared with TLC!!! **

** The boys are so in love with the Chipmunks till the chippies get a share of the cuppies ^_^ **

Drama - 宫心計 (Beyond the Realm of Conscience)

Though it took me a long while to finish this show (because hubby wants to watch too, so can only watch it when both of us are in the mood to), but it is really a nice one.

Imperial Household Bureau is responsible for managing and directing all household services to the Emperor and the Imperial family in Tang Dynasty. It is composed of four departments, namely Jewels, Attire, Food and Furnishings.

Lau Sam-ho (Charmaine Sheh) and Yiu Kam-ling (Tavia Yeung) are introduced into the bureau in their tender age and brought up in the disciplines of the palace. The two girls are diligent. Yuen Tsui-wan (Susanna Kwan), Head of the Jewels, and Chung Suet-ha (Michelle Yim), Head of the Attire, are both very fond of Ho for she is a kind-hearted young girl. Soon, they start fighting for the fellowship of Ho.

Ho always remembers her mother's words left to her before she passed away, that she was told, "Doing good deeds, speaking good words, showing good will." She lives her life of being gracious and kind-hearted in the palace. On the other hand, Ling believes her survival in palace is achieved through cruel and calculating tactics. She cheats and schemes her way to the top and finally becomes the concubine. Though she realizes that Ho has fallen in love with the chess master Ko Hin-yeung (Kevin Cheng), her jealousy still arouses by Ho's attraction to the Emperor Lee Yi (Moses Chan).

Fearing that she is losing power, she ruthlessly makes up a false allegation against Ho for murdering the Empress (Mary Hon) and condemns her to death. No matter how clever she is to scheme, things do not go the way she planned. By using a strong comparison of the two distinctive characters, Ho and Ling, the message of the drama is that "benevolence" is the only way to gain final victory.

Oswald's Birthday Celebration!!!

Time flies ... almost another year had passed and my boy is turning 5 soon!!!

This year Oswald gets to celebrate his special day over an art session with his friends. Initially he had wanted to throw a party at one of those indoor playground places ... but they are TOO COSTLY!!! I'd sourced for alternatives and luckily had managed to find a replacement - ART WORK (which is something Oswald likes too)

Called a few places and Hans Art is so far the cheapest and have got available time slot to slot us in for a birthday celebration.

Click HERE to see how much fun we all had.

Movie Marathon

1st it was Toy Story 3 with the boys ... definitely worth watching. It is definitely better than Shrek.

Then it was Karate Kid with hubby and friends. Very enjoyable show and really had a good laugh at certain scenes.

Woh ... that is 2 movies in 1 day. SHOIK!!!

Omakase @ Tenza Izakaya

It's MIL birthday and father's day round the corner. A very good opportunity to bring the whole family down to our friend's restaurant - Tenza Izakaya.

This time, we opt for Omakase. We left it to the chef to prepare our menu for the night and here's the menu for the night ...

The food presented was really good plus good beer and good sake ... the old folks really enjoyed themselves.

The night's meal ended with a Green Tea Red Bean cake made by me ^_^

Just another SUNDAY!!!

I guess age is catching up ... late nights really drain me out. For 2 nights in a row, hubby and myself slept late but got to get up early because of the kids. Just 2 nights is enough to make us wanna stay indoors on a Sunday. Rest and relax was all that we did for the whole morning and after a light lunch, we even took a nap with the kids.

After the long nap, we are both recharged!!!

We brought the boys out for dinner. This time, we've picked Outback Steakhouse @ Millenia Walk.

It had been a long while since my last visit. The place still look pretty much the same. But this is the 1st time I am trying out their kids menu. Hubby went to meet a friend to get some stuff done and hence I am all by myself with the kids for dinner ^_^.

Our order = Mac-A-Roo N Cheese & Spagehetti and Finger Combo.

On top of that, I've order a serve of their Soup Of The Day - Potato Soup.

There is 2 size to their soup. You can have it it a cup or a bowl and the cup being a smaller portion which I think is pretty perfect for a kid. For an adult, unless you only plan to drink soup, else it would be a wiser choice to choose the cup too. The food portion here is of a considerable size, at least to me ^_^.

And not to mention their complimentary bread ...

Too bad, hubby took too long to finish his stuff and by the time he join us, the kids are done with their meal already. So ... I did not manage to place order for myself. Oh well, I guess that leave me an excuse to come back again.

The kids get to spend a few days at my in-laws place and to our next destination we go ... TMM Chalet!!! After dropping off the kids, hubby and myself went to get dinner. We headed back to Bugis area to meet up with friends, dinner and walk around. We did a bit of shopping here and there and went to check out Illuma. A pretty new shopping centre just opposite Bugis Junction opened sometime in 2009.

While we were checking out the new shopping centre, this display caught our attention.

We were all so amazed at the art work and did not realised there's a write up on the works by the creator unless we stop staring at it and stood up.
