Met up with my GFs for morning tea and 顺便 went Daiso to have a look. I only spend about 15 mins in there because got to rush back to pick Owein from school. But this 15 mins is good enough to create a tiny 'damage' ... why damage when I only picked up 2 items from there??

Reason: I AM NOT SUPPOSE TO BUY ANY MORE BENTO STUFFS!!!

But ... cannot resist!!! hahahaha

This is not all ... come end of the day, we headed off to FoodFare at Clementi Mall for dinner and landed myself with 2 more bento boxes. Not like I've not enough but the boxes are just too cute to resist and they only cost $3.

How to get it?? Top up $3 to any kids meal you purchase in the food court at any stalls. Check out the kids menu and the boxes ...

Cute right ... how to resist :p

Today is the last day of CNY, 元宵节. As usual, our family will gather to have a meal together. This year, 元宵节 falls on a Monday. To make it easy, we decided to eat out and had chosen Dragon Phoenix Restaurant @ Clarke Quey for dinner. Afraid that dinner may start late and the boys will be hungry, I made bento for the boy and bento-lift the idea I saw before.

1st picture is bento for Oswald and the one below is Owein's box. Everything packed is the same for the boys except for the meat. Oswald have Chicken Karaage and Owein, Fish Fingers. Oswald would prefer chicken to fish and Owein vice versa and that explains the different type of meat packed.

Bento Wednesday!!!

The boys get a 'sea' view with today's bento.

A simple breakfast for Owein this morning. Sandwich with a view ... he got Nutella sandwich + Octodogs (Pork Sausages).

Recess break for Oswald is similar too. But he got Strawberry Jam in his sandwich and got extra snacks - Pineapple Tarts and Gummies.

Made a bonus bento for Oswald today. Not sure why I am in the mood ... just decided to make something nice for Oswald to eat in the car on his way to piano lesson. Consider this as a BONUS for him hehehe.

Presenting ... Missy Octopus as Oswald's meal on the go today.

Missy Octopus is made from ham from an illustration from Yum Yum Bento Book. Rice balls with ham and 1/2 and egg coated with Pork Floss as sea bed and his favorite vegetable Broccoli to fill up the gaps.

'Fishy' business today to end my this week theme.

Owein had requested for a repeat of his Wednesday bento and hence requested granted. P/S: save me some brain juice cos not need to brainstorm what to do.

This time, he wanted peanut butter spread on his bread ... wish granted. Paired with his bread are 2 'Fishy' Pork Sausages and Raisins.

For Oswald, he wanted to bring fruits (Blueberries + Oranges) to school for his weekly Fruits and Vegetables day. In order to ensure he can finish his food fast and eat his fruits, I'd decided to pack a lesser amount of bread and in bite site.

Took out my fish cutter to cut bread in the fish shape and made plans to add details to his fishes. Sort of regretted my decision when I was placing the details this morning. I think I will think twice next time when such details are required in the future. But seriously, I am quite satisfied with the final result. =)

Oh well, that marks the last bento that I am gona make this week. Got to think what theme to use for next week ... time for some brainstorming ...

The Most "IN" Hand Accessory

Today, is Owein's turn to go see a doctor. He is coughing again and sounded quite bad. While I was at the doctor with Owein, I had also ask her for a second opinion on my injured tendon and to find out what would the prescription be if I had gone to see a GP instead.

I was told that for such cases, usually patients would be given anti inflammation medication and some steroid medication (or cream, which I cannot remember) as treatment. Too bad, there isn't a 100% confirmation that such medication would be safe while breastfeeding and hence doctor said not advisable unless I insist. The only other thing now I can do is to get a wrist guard to protect the injured area to prevent it from getting hurt again.

So, off I went to the nearest pharmacy to get myself this piece of "IN" accessory. Got to put it on for awhile or till at least my hand does not hurt that much.

Injured Tendon

Finally cannot bear with the pain and had decided to go see a doctor. Since it is a Sunday, my only option is to see a Chinese physician. Conclusion was to go check out the TCM by Eu Yan San at Bukit Panjang Plaza and also to have dinner there.

1st time ever seeing a Chinese physician and this is what I got after stepping out of the doctor's room.

My right hand bandaged up with some medicine inside and to remained wrapped up for the next 10 hours and cannot get it wet. This means, I can only remove it at about 6:30am tomorrow morning. Luckily I can sleep away the 10 hours ... cannot imagine if I had gone to see the doctor in the morning instead.

On top of the 'wrap', I was also given sachets of medicine powder for the next 7 days and to drink it twice a day. Got to dissolve it in warm water and drink it. OMG ... never ever like the taste of Chinese medication BUT NO CHOICE. My 1st dose - tried to finish the whole cup at one go but I failed. Simply cannot swallow the last mouthful and got to spit it out. Luckily I was taking it just by the sink.

MIL bought some chocolate 花卷 (flower rolls) for the boys and still have some leftovers lying in my fridge. Since the boys like it and I'd included it into their bento today.

Was discussing on where the cute elephant biscuits were purchased from in a FB group for bento-ers and got inspired to use elephants to decorate up my boy's bento.

Keeping in line with this week's main ingredient of store bought buns, the boys get to bring one of their favorite bun from Four Leaves. Once again, accessories are used to give the final touches.

Had been wanting to head to Daiso at IMM for a long while but never had the chance to do so and had been pushing it off. Finally cannot hole back the urge anymore and had decided to make a quick dash there before picking Owein up from school.

Managed to pick up a new set of picks. The last packet there and was kinda being hidden behind other packets of picks. I am a happy mama ^_^

Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm, finally baby Odin is sound asleep and 二哥 Owein had also decided to take an afternoon nap. The 2 brothers sleeping together on my bed ... what a sight ^_^.

What should I do on a Saturday afternoon with 2 boys fast asleep, the eldest playing on his own in the living room and hubby not at home ...

Did not have a chance to sort out the items that my buddy passed me yesterday. So, now is the best time to get it all sorted out. Took me awhile to arrange and re-arrange my stuffs to fit everything in. Only to realize what a huge collection of bento tools I have and I am still buying hahahaha

Using my new gadget made pre-dinner snack for Oswald and Owein when Owein woke up from his nap. I'd used my Tomica Car Sandwich mould to make Ham and Cheese Sandwiches for the boys. Added some picks to make it more interesting ...

Traffic lights, One Way sign and the Ghost picks are one of my recent purchase from SugarCraft. I had asked Owein which character he want from my picks collection to 'drive' the car and he had wanted the Ghost. Not sure why he picked that and I did not bother ask further. What matters is he enjoys what he is seeing and eating. Gave Oswald the same choice but he too had picked the Ghost. Oh well, who say only during Halloween then can use these Ghostly picks. On 2nd look, the Ghost looks kinda cute in this setting. Heehee.

This week's theme is CNY Goodies. I was too lazy to think of anything and there are heaps of CNY goodies to clear, so everything just fell in place conveniently.

Only Oswald got to head back to school on Wednesday and hence only need to pack food for him. Sent him off to school with his favorite Pineapple Tarts, Mandarin Oranges, Candy and some Crackers.

Still am going to let the boys bring CNY goodies to school. FIL went back home last night hence got 1 less person to help around at home today so planning ahead is very important in order to let the boys bring their bento to school.

I had packed Owein's food last night and only added in the crackers just before it is time to leave the house.

I had placed Pineapple Tarts, Raisins and Crackers for Owein to snack in school.

After dropping Owein off, I headed back to settle Odin. After Odin had been washed up and fed, I went about preparing Oswald's box. He wanted his favorite bread (Gardenia Fruit and Nut) to be added into his box today.

I had used his bento box to help cut the shape of the bread so that it fits nicely in the corner and used the remaining scraps to cut the flower which was placed on the top. Filled up the rest of the space with an Orange and a Pineapple Tart.

Had a present surprise from my buddy. She had just got back from her holiday in Taiwan and had help me get lots of Bento related items. I am so happy with my new tools. Check out what had just flew in from Taiwan!!!

I was beaming from ear to ear ^_^

CNY 2012

Year of the Dragon came early. So early that I hardly had the time to get prepared.

With a new born to care of, a P1 boy still in the midst of getting use to the new learning environment and schedule and a middle child who might be having some middle child syndrome, how to get into the new year mood. *sigh* I never bother to do anything much. Just simple decorations around the house and simple spring cleaning, I am set to welcome the new year.

Working on the pancakes that I'd frozen up, made Flower shaped pancakes for Oswald today. Since is the last day of school before CNY, I added in some CNY goodies into his box together with some dried tomatoes.

Nails Galore #1/2012

Finally get to pamper my nails again and in time for CNY.

Manage to source for someone who does home visit for medi and pedi. A service which I need for now because there is no way that I can sit at the nail parlor to get my nails done while handling a baby.

Tenth Nail answered my need for now and I'd decided to give it a try. Booked an appointment for today and I was looking forward to it. The therapist was pretty on time and she appeared at my door with bags hanging over her shoulder. No time was wasted and after setting up her tools, she started to work on my hands. I had opt for Gelish Manicure and a Classic Pedicure.

Overall experience:-
1) Colors were a little limited.
2) She'd got no time to draw nail art and I am only left with nail art stickers if I want to beautify my nails.
3) Side of the nails still need extra skill to 'clean' it more neatly and application of the polish a bit not even.
4) Filing of dead skin for the feet was done briefly, not sure if that is due to the restriction of working environment. Maybe she scare she would dirty my floor. Those girls in the parlor really scrub my feet down and I really can see those dead skin 'piling' up when they work.

Anyway, I am still alright with the service mainly because it is done at the convenience of my home and I need not worry about my baby. She is also very nice to fix up an appointment for me because it was really a last min booking that I'd made. All thanks to her or else I will not have pretty nails for CNY.

In Owein's box, we've got moulded Percy filled with nutella, raisins, fruit loops and chocolate candy.

Oswald's box, Thomas is filled with fruit jam, gummy burger, chocolate candy, pineapple tart and lastly dried tomatoes in the yellow container.

Both Thomas and Percy are made using a Thomas and Friends rice mould that a friend had bought from HK.

Today Oswald did not want to bring a lunch box to school and so I only need to prepare for Owein. Owein wanted me to use my other set of Thomas cutters to make sandwiches. Of the 4 characters that I've got in that set, Owein only wanted Thomas and Percy. Once again, Gordon and James got to be left behind ...

Owein's breakfast snack consist of Bread with Nutella spread + Penguin Gummies.

My dear Son,

Finally you are done with your kindergarten studies and had proceed on to a new phrase in your schooling life. Hope you will settle in school soon, make new friends and enjoy the next 6 years in the school that we had chosen for you.

We are proud that you had made it through your 1st week in your new school with no issues. Now you are into your 2nd week and finally something went off track. On this day, your 7th day in school, you had returned home without your diary and an extra Chinese textbook. Reason given to me for this mishap ... "I was in a rush."

Oh son ... what can mummy say. Hope you will be more careful with your things and not to let this happen again alright?

Whatever it is, we are proud that you have no issues in adapting to your new school life. Face the coming challenges with no fear for we will always be there for you.

Today is week 2 of school in Term 1. Last week was a crazy week for me especially the 1st 3 days of the new school year. Glad that the week is over and hope everything would be more settled from this week on.

Oswald had requested for packed food to bring school. I guess he had ate too many days of mash potatoes in school already. That silly boy ate mash potatoes 3 days on a row all because he cannot find anything else he would like to eat in school. *sigh*

Here goes my 1st bento of the year ...

Yogood Muesli Bar + Dried Tomatoes (inside bear container) + Biscuits.

A bit of anything that I can find at home to piece this up for him today. Hope he enjoys it.

It is time of the year again ...

Last day of 2011, last few hours of 2011 to reflect upon matters that had happened during the year. Time to look back and to decide whether to give yourself a pat on the back for all the goods that you have done or to reflect on the bads and make improvement in the coming year.

For me, majority of the time in 2011 was spent on being pregnant and enjoy life as much as I can before baby comes along ^_^. Other than daily chores of taking care of my 2 lovely boys and the household, I had also picked up a new interest - BENTOing. A very interesting hobby but time consuming too. I hope I still have the time to bento occasionally in the coming year.

The start of the coming year would be a challenge for me. Having to care for a new born, Odin, helping Oswald adapt to primary school and trying to give equal attention to Owein in midst of all the busy shedule. I know it is not easy especially when Odin is still so young and dependent on me. Hope the difference in schooling time between the boys and help from my in laws would help ease the situation a little.

Oh well, 2011 had been a not bad year for me. Greatest achievement is the arrival of baby Odin and Oswald's completion of his pre-school studies. Whatever that is going to happen in the coming year, I will slowly face it and tackle it there n then.

Arrival of Baby No. 3 - Odin Wong

A trobbling headache is keeping me awake. No matter how hard I tried still cannot get back to sleep. To distract myself from the 'pain', I'd decided to update my little space here. Hope the pain lessen or go away by the time I am done ranting ^_^

What have I been up to lately ... I guess the title says it all.

Our newest addition finally arrive on 4th Nov 2011 after much anticipation. His arrival was so close to my EDD (6th Nov). I was hoping for a November to complete the birthday month pattern in our family. But upon knowing that his EDD was 6th Nov, I had thought we might not have the chance. I had wished and prayed very hard for miracle to happen and it did. Not only my wish for a Nov baby was granted, baby came on such a day that he shares it with 2 other person who are very close to us. Isn't it wonderful???

For the past week, everything seems to pass in a flash, I hardly had the time to sit back to stop for awhile till probably now. Hahaha. Contraction starts > delivery > 3 days 2 nights hospital stay > home with Odin > handling curious kids who are so excited with their new brother > nursing the newborn > jaundice check > getting milk supply steady for feeds ... So many thing happening during the past 7 days. I am so glad that things are finally settling down a bit. It is really not easy but glad that I had made it through, with help of course. All thanks to the support that my parent in laws had given. Without them around to help out with the older boys, I probably had gone crazy having to handle them plus the newborn.

Bento #6 - Halloween 2011

I had decided to prepare food with a theme in mind this month. Since Halloween is approaching, hence all food decorations are revolved round this.

10 Oct - I had made Grilled Maple Chicken and Pork Ribs and decided to pair it with Fried Rice for the boys. Cut out a pumpkin with cheese and added facial details using nori. Used crescent shaped cutters for the moon and picks for other details. Easy start for my Halloween Themed food this month.

12 Oct - 'House of Ghost' named by Owein. Breakfast prepared for hubby and my Double Os. 1st time trying out craving on apple ... from the looks of it, seems not bad for a 1st timer ^_^. Door and window frame is cut out using nori.

14 Oct - For this morning's breakfast, I'd decided to make some MUMMIES!!! Somehow the mummies turned out more cute than scary ... LOL. In hubby's bento, I added in a Yuzu Cupcake which I had made the day before.

19 Oct - Familar look? Look like the character in The Nightmare Before Christmas right? LOL another cute idea instead of scary one ... and I thought Halloween is suppose to be scary hahaha but can't help it. Can't make myself to prepare those scary looking food like fingers and eyeballs.

21 Oct - My last Halloween Themed breakfast for the boys and hubby. Wanted to do a scary bat but it turned out looking more sad than scary ... hahaha. Oh well, what ever goes right as long as the kids like it.

Drama - 公主的男人 (The Princess’ Man)

Caught this show on KBS and fell in love with it enough to follow through the entire series on TV. Faithfully recording it weekly just to watch it. For now, if interested to watch, can only get to watch it online. Happy viewing ^_^

Drama - 烘焙王金桌球 (Bread, Love and Dreams)

"Bread, Love and Dreams" covers the life of Kim Tak-Gu from the 1970's until the late 1980's as he becomes one of the most successful bakers in all of Korea.

The president of Geosung baking company Koo Il-joong (Jeon Kwang-Leol) loved Kim Mi-soon (Jeon Mi-Seon), but Koo Il-joong's mother was against their relationship. Because of this, and as a marriage of convenience, Koo Il-Joong instead married Suh In-sook (Jeon In-Hwa). They had two daughters, Ja-kyung and Ja-rim, but no sons. Sometime later, Il-joong has an extra-marital affair with his true love Mi-Soon and they conceive a son, who will later be named Tak-gu.

Meanwhile, In-sook is afraid that Tak-gu may one day become the heir to the Geosung baking company, In-Sook then seduces the company's Chief Secretary Han Seung-jae (Jeong Seong-Mo) and they conceive a son who will later be named Ma-joon (Ju Won). Years later, on a rainy evening, Koo Il-joong's mother overhears a conversation between Han Seung-Jae and In-sook. She collapses and dies. During this time In-sook loses her bracelet and her son Ma-joon is there to retrieve it. Ma-Joon now knows who his real father is.

Meanwhile to protect Kim Mi-Soon and Tak-gu, Koo Il-Joong orders a man named Jin-Goo (Park Seong-Woong) to kidnap them. Seo In-Suk and Han Seung-Jae attempts to kill Tak-gu, but he is fortunate enough to escape. Tak-gu then meets his lifelong mentor Pal-Bong (Jang Hang-Seon) , who runs Palbong Bakery.

Tak-gu first met Yoo-kyung (Yu Jin) when they were children. She lived through a difficult childhood, with an abusive father and having little money. Yoo-kyung learned to smile for the first time when they met, but when Tak-gu goes to Koo Il-joong's house as the first son they separated. 12 years later they meet again and their love is rekindled. Nevertheless, Yoo-kyung now believes that love is nothing when compared to money and power and because of this she leaves Tak-gu to marry Ma-joon instead.

Another show that I could not stop watching once I started it. Enjoy ^_^

Bye-Bye Pretty Nails ...

It had been a long while since I last update on my medi/pedi experience. Haven been to upkeep my nails due to my morning sickness. But when that was over, it is almost time that I got to start preparing for my baby's arrival. My last 2 times to pamper my nails before delivery ... then after that no more pretty nails unnecessary liao :(

Drama - 秘密花园 (Secret Garden)

The drama tells the story of Kim Joo Won (Hyun Bin), an arrogant and eccentric CEO who maintains the image of seeming perfection, and Gil Ra Im (Ha Ji Won), a poor and humble stuntwoman whose beauty and body are the object of envy amongst top actresses. Their accidental meeting, when Joo Won mistakes Ra Im for actress Park Chae Rin, marks the beginning of a tense, bickering relationship, through which Joo Won tries to hide a growing attraction to Ra Im that both confuses and disturbs him. To complicate matters further, a strange sequence of events results in them swapping bodies.

Highly recommended to watch this. I love this show to the max!!!!

Bento #5 - Simple Breakfast for Kids

I usually have to pack breakfast for my boys to bring school every Wednesdays and Fridays because my elder boy does not like the food served on those mornings.

However I am always tight on time in the mornings unless I wake up really early or did prep work the night before. Hence, I usually fall back on sandwich moulds and cookies cutters to make their usual bread more interesting and filling up empty spaces with their favourite snack.

Sometimes, instead of getting the usual loaf bread, I buy bread from the bakery. With some decorations, sparks up things for the boys too. But to make this happen, I usually have to plan ahead and probably got to get some decorations done the night before. This would make my job easier in the morning as I only need to put everything in place.

One of my latest inspiration is to make FROGGIES ... saw pictures of it on bento sites that I visit and cannot resist it cos they are so cute. I just got to give it a try.

I had misjudged the assembly time for this and hence I was left with not much time to think of what other snacks to pack for the boys. I just packed in some biscuits and sent the boys to school with their froggie breakfast. But no complains from the boys as they both finished everything that was packed.

Still got a couple of months before school ends for the year ... till then, I've got to continued to be inspired and think of what to pack for the boys. Till then ... ^_^

Finally back in the mood to watch my korean dramas. Had been waiting for this show to be available for a long time and finally gotten my hands on it.

A high school girl named Oh Ha Ni (Jung So Min) who is in the bottom of her class has had a crush on popular and genius male student named Baek Seung Jo (Kim Hyun Joong) ever since she saw him on the first day of high school. Ha Ni decides to confess through a letter, but is rejected by Seung Jo, who tells her that he hates stupid girls. Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Ha Ni's family's new house. While the house gets rebuilt, Ha Ni and her dad (Kang Nam Gil) stay at the home of her dad's childhood friend, who happens to be Seung Jo's father. Now the two must live together and fun and chaos occurs as Ha Ni tries to win Seung Jo's heart.

This is another drama by Kim Hyun Joong who also had acted in 花样男子 (Boys over Flowers). He also sang a song titled - One More Time in the OST.

A 7 episodes "Playful Kiss: Special Edition" was released on YouTube at a later date which is a mini continuation of the drama.

Bento #4 - Musical Dinosaur

Fuzz free dinner prepared within an hour.

We had decided to drop by my in laws place for some cousins catching up session. [P/S: Hubby's relative from USA are in town for visit and are putting up at my in laws place] But due to the last minute decision, I've got to pack my boy's dinner along. I'd nothing much at home and can only salvage whatever I have in the fridge.

Dinner is made up of:-

1) Fried Rice with Corn n Carrot wrapped in store bought Crepe skin.
2) Dinosaur shaped Nugget.
3) Potato and Cheese Balls.

I'd did some read up on freezing rice here and I simply love the ideal. Having portions of freezed rice in my freezer, it is a very useful thing especially for preparing last minute meals.

Today got to attend a cousin's wedding at The Ritz Carlton and since it is a family event, my boys get to tag along too.

In view of that, KS mummy started to plan out what food to pack for the boys and I'd decided to use my newly purchased bento boxes for the boys.

Their dinner comprised of:-

1) Chicken Karaage - store bought, frozen ones very convenient indeed.
2) Pumpkin Onigiri - used Japanese pumpkin for this and it gives a very nice yellow color to the rice.
3) Broccoli, Carrots, Baby Corn and Quail Eggs as space fillers and garnish.

Recently bento is the way to go to prepare kids food. Had been seeing quite a lots of bento sets on Facebook and I am so inspired.

1st, I need to get my hands on a tamago pan because both my boys like tamago and I thought it would be a good ingredient to start with. So ... off I went to Daiso to pick up my cheap pan plus some bento making kits.

Tamago

Found a really easy to follow recipe online and after trying it then realised that it was not that difficult after all. Before that, all the layering and folding of the egg etc had kinda put me off to making tamago.

Other than the egg being slightly burnt, it was not bad for beginners.

Let's get BENTO-ing

With the tamago I'd made, I made this for the boy's dinner on 20 June. My boys found it cute and ate up their dinner in record timing. How inspiring ...

Being inspired by my boys, I started to read more on making bentos online and sourcing for ideas. There is really lots to learn online and I'd picked up quite a bit of tips and tricks through my research. While still researching, my good friend and spurred me on to pick up a challenge ... that is to make an ANGRY BIRD bento by showing me this picture!!!

Isn't it cute!!! And when my boys are head over heals with the birds, she got to show me that!!! All because of my boys' love, I was so tempted to give it a try. I'd stared at pictures of Angry Bird bentos for the next few days, and finally I surrender and decided to make it for my little ones on 26 June. BUT ... only 1 type of bird for now ...

Not really happy with the final result but not bad for the 1st try. I promised the boys to try again and to make more birds ... guess it is time to source for more equipments and read up more on bento skills.

As I read on during my research, I came upon very interested food preparation method. Came by this DOMO character potato croquettes from Anna The Red's Bento Factory. I think it is damn cute and not very difficult to make and hence decided to give it a try for the boys on 27 June.

Haven been able to update what I have been up to in my kitchen recently. Now finally got the time to share ... Bon Appetit ^_^

Mushroom Bruschetta

We had lunch at Marina Bay Financial Centre and after that went for a walk at Marina Bay Link. We passed by The Soup Spoon and I saw pre-made mushroom soup available for sale. Suddenly having a mushroom craving, I'd decided to make a mushroom meal dinner for the boys.

To pair with the mushroom soup, I'd decided to make Mushroom Bruschetta as their carbo in take. Guess what, it was well liked by the boys. Initially I thought it might be a little mushroom overdose for them but who knows ... both of them enjoyed the meal.

Fun with Bread/Cookie Moulds

Since I had a collection of moulds, school holidays is the best time to take them out to use because I got all the time in the morning to prepare breakfast for myself and the boys.

** Isn't this adorable ... made this for myself. Sealed off the sides of the bread with a sandwich mould and add on kitty face with my cookie mould. **

Chocolate Making

Finally I picked up the courage to try making CHOCOLATES!!!

Well actually there's a reason behind the push. Oswald wanted a Dinosaur Themed Birthday Party at school. To make sure that everyone in class gets a dinosaur in an inexpensive way, I've only got this choice!!! Plus my SIL was so sweet to pick up the dinosaur chocolate mould from Phoon Huat for me. So, why not give it a go and if it fails, then at least I still got time to think of alternatives.

Did lots of read ups and asking around ... I even bought a book on chocolate for reference. Finally I put my hands on making it ... and the result ...

** Couverture Milk Chocolate with Dark Chocolate Truffle Fillings. **

I only know that it was couverture chocolate when I was extracting the chocolate from the mould. During extraction, chocolate snaps easily and melts very fast. This only happend when couverture chocolate is not tempered properly. But when I purchased the chocolate, I had ask for compound chocolate specifically and was told that it was compound chocolate. Kinda felt cheated but the chocolate taste really good.

** Compound White Chocolate with Dark Chocolate Truffle Fillings. **

Though the taste of previous batch of chocolate was heaven but don't think I am ready to temper with chocolate yet. This time round, tried making chcolate again and using COMPOUND chocolate. I had choosen white chocolate because I wanted to experiment with colours. Added a few drops of green into my white chocolate and the color turned out quite pretty.

Upon comparison, compound chocolate is really much easier to work with. No more breakage and melting during extraction. Of course, the taste will lose out a bit but don't think kids will be able to tell much of a difference hehehe. Now, can make colorful dinosaurs for Oswald cuppies for school party!!!

Birthday!!!

Due to my pregnancy, I was totally out of mood during my 1st trimester and only till recently then I am feeling good enough to start things in the house again. I had missed out on making my own and hubby's birthday cake hence I gave it a go to make my MIL one.

Had asked my boys on how should I decorate the cake and trust me ... never ask a child for opinion if not ... your cake will turn out this way ...

Oh yes ... is a DINOSAUR themed cake. LOL ... this is what you get for an answer when you ask 2 boys who are crazy over dinosaurs now.

Took a green tea cake base recipe from Okashi Treats: Sweet Treats Made With Love and then filled the layers up with Azuki Beans and whipped cream then followed up with the decorations.

Despite the kiddish decoration, which all the kids at the table were so excited about, everyone else like the taste of the cake. So overall, the cake was cute on the outside ... but tasty on the inside hahahaha satisfy both kids and adults.

That's not all that I've been churning out from my kitchen recently ... there's more to come. Check out on my next post on my crazy over bento making for my boys.

Yes ... another boy. How I wish it was a girl ... oh well.

Now really got to think hard to find another O name for no. 3. It was quite difficult to decide Owein's name 4 years back. Now, another boy, it will really be a challange for me ...

Fridays is always a rush for me even when my in-laws could help baby sit my boys before I go pick them for their music class. But not as bad as the current situation because my in-laws will make sure that they wake up in time to have an early dinner and just in time for me to pick them.

Now, we've got relatives here for visit and are staying at my in-laws place, hence no more such convinence and I've got to take over all the task including feeding the boys before their lesson.

Due to time constrain, got to 'resort' to making food looks interesting and easy to eat ...

A quick meal prepared within 1/2 hour for the boys to eat in the car on the way to music lesson. Most importantly, it entice the boys to eat and they finish up everything withing the short 20 mins ride from CCK to Clementi.

Phew ... it really had been quite awhile since I last updated. This 3rd pregnancy is really getting into me and in addition got to take care of 2 growing tods. It was a real challenge but I guess the worst had gone because I am feeling less tired and got a bit more energy to get things going.

Not sure where to start since I had not been blogging for so long. Hmm ... let's start with the youngest 1st.

Baby No. 3 - Growing well inside and I am starting to feel more of his/her movement. Currently in my 20th week of pregnancy but we have yet to know baby's gender. We had wanted to find out badly during my 16th week checkup but baby's position was not really ideal to give a confirm answer. Will be going for my detail scan tomorrow ... we should be able to know gender by then. *Though it a bit too late, but I am still hoping hard for a girl*

Double O's - The boys are having a hell lots of fun. First of all, they are having their June Holidays. Their days are packed with activities either at home or outside and they get to eat nicely prepared meals by mummy. Secondly, their from USA are here for a visit. So, in addition to all activities mummy had lined up for them, they get to hang out with their cousins too. How exciting!!!

Here's a list of what we did this holiday ... (be prepared, it is gona be a long one!!! ^_^)

31 May - Thomas 'LIVE' Show at Jurong Point.

We headed down to JP really early to be sure that we get a chance to meet Thomas close up. Organiser only allow 1st 50 kids for the meet up session. After our brunch at MacDonalds and a short walk around, we joined the queue at about 12pm for the show which only starts at 1pm. Even though we were almost an hour early, Oswald n Owein is already the 6th and 7th kid to be admitted. Talking abount being KS ... sometimes you just got to follow the flow else you lose out :p

3 June - Short Visit to the Zoo.

While Oswald is having fun at Bible Camp, I'd decided to bring Owein out to the Zoo to meet up with Peggy and her friend for a short while. If I recall correctly, this would be the 1st time that Owein explore the Zoo without his stroller ... and too bad for him, mummy can't carry him even though he is tired. But he had been good and was on his feet the whole time we were there. His reward ... a hand painting of a Dinosaur!!! hehehehe

13 June - Playtime at The Playhouse @ Rochester.

I had been wanting to check out this place for the longest time but never had the chance to do so. Finally managed to get it done this holiday.

It is a very interesting place indeed and the kids love it there. Only downside is the kids menu looks more interesting that their usual menu ... lol. But it is really a good place for mummies to hang out because the kids will be too busy playing and being entertained in the play room to bother their mummies. I had a good time relaxing at the cafe with my friend Peggy.

15 June - At the Zoo with the Sterlings.

The Sterlings are heading to the zoo and I'd decided to bring the boys to go join them. Bringing 5 active boys out is not a joke but glad that the boys enjoyed themselves. Oswald's greatest achievement, at least that's what I think, is that he had tried to feed the Rinos. Something which I had never expect but guess what, he did not 'shy' off and even attempts to do it. Great job Oswald!!!

We stayed a good 4 hours there before we had to head home for Oswald's nap because he had got TKD class at night. I was totally drained and the drive home seems so long even though it is just a short drive back ...

16 June - It's Grandma's BIRTHDAY!!!

It is grandma's birthday today and upon request of the boys, I had to make a DINOSAUR cake for grandma. What a theme and I swear never to ask the boy's opinion on cake decoration anymore. Brought the boys out for a quick lunch and to get the ingredients for decorating the cake ... after a few hours of 'hard work' ... finally got the cake done up in time for the night's dinner surprise. *see above for the cake design*

I'd made Green Tea Red Bean Cake for my MIL and everyone likes it. Gotten quite good reviews for the cake *blush*. Anyway glad that everyone likes it ... even the kids went 'woh' about it ... all thanks to the cake decoration hahahaha.

At last, completed my updates for the meantime. Time to take a break ... till my next post ... CIAO ^_^

This show is definitely in my highly recommended list. It had a good mix of everything that I enjoyed watching. From history to romance to comedy to action.

With X'mas parties to plan in 2010 and CNY preparations in 2011 really left me not much time to catch up with my K-Dramas. Now, finally get a chance to start my K-Drama once again and I got hooked to a very nice show.

Nice plot + nice OST = Drama that I cannot stop watching ... LOL

Ma Hye Ri is a woman with an excellent memory and ability to focus, which allowed her to pass the bar exam with ease. Despite her talents, she is more interested in being fashionable and dislikes hard work so she is far from being an ideal prosecutor and has doubts about her suitability for her job. Through her conflicts with senior colleagues and struggles with difficult cases; however, Hye Ri gradually matures into a brilliant prosecutor with a sense of duty and justice.

The soft gel that I did before CNY was really good. I was told it could last for about 3 weeks and it did.

Booked an appointment with my medicurist today for my soft gel removal. Got to remove it because it started to peel already.

Hmm so what should I do to my nails this time ... I ended choose French Medicure for my hands and just the normal pedicure for my feet. The only thing is I got my medicurist to draw hearts to match the up coming Valentine's Day ^_^

Oh gosh ... It is 5:12am and I am still awake puking my guts out!!! This is exactly what Owein went through on Friday night. Now it is my turn. Sigh ...

Whole body ache like crazy due to the gagging. Seems like gotta drag myself to the doctor early in the morning and don't think I will be able to send Oswald to school. Luckily in laws decided to help take care of Owein ... Cannot imagine having to lag 2boys to the clinic in my sick condition.

Just before I decide to head out to see the doctor, I'd decided to call TMM to check on owein. But guess what ... Not only that owein had a relapse, my MIL is also down. Oh gosh, how bad can that be. Sent an SOS SMS to hubby for him to bring Owein to see doctor.

Hubby came back, went all the way down in law's place to bring Owein to see doctor while I rest at home. But guess who is next to see a doc after Owein. I think you must have guessed it ... it was my darling hub. Including my MIL, 4 of us are down all at the same time!!!

What a terrible way to welcome CNY, which is just a few days later.

Rest ... Rest ... Rest ... Is all what we need. Hope we will all be better just in time.

This year, I'd decide to 'gel' up my nails so that I no need to head to the medicurist 2 times just to get my nails all done up for CNY.

A new gel product (soft gel) had arrived at my regular medicure shop and it is not as harmful to the nails compared to hard gel.

Perle and myself attended our very 1st workshop in 2011.

This is a session on Macarons with Palate Sensations. We were so looking forward to the class as we both love to eat Macarons.

Perle had a book full of Macarons receipe but we hadn't had the courage to try any of the recipe in there yet. We read about too many failures on the internet and how temperamental Macarons can be.

Ok, back to our class ... lesson starts at 10am this morning. We paid 101% attention during class and made extra effort to get our products right. This is so brain draining ... especially on a Sunday morning!!!

But just look at our results ... 100% successful Macarons!!!

We were taught how to make these too ... Chocolat Noisette ^_^

Recipe - Rice Cubes

So inspired by those pretty bentos prepared by people I am very tempted to give it a try. For a kick start, I went shopping with the boys at Daiso and let them picked up rice moulds and other decorative items.

Armed with the necessary equipments but no recipe, I've got to come up with something on my own ... LOL.

Gut feeling + imagination = Edible 'bite' size rice cubes

Not bad for 1st try and luckily both the boys like it. And when the boys like it, mummy like it too ^_^. Judging from responds, this would be one of my favourite 'to cook' dish when the boys need a fast meal or when we are on the move.

I've gather all ingredients required and started making my cookie dough. As I was baking my cookies, I'd also started to gather friends to come join in the fun. After the whole afternoon of baking and the whole night of cookie decoration ... 3 girls (me, Perle and Lishan) ended the session with pride ...

Drama - IRIS

This is an action pack drama. The 1st action pack korean drama I've watched. There were many talks about this show on Arirang (Starhub CH 146) and hence it really sparks off my interest.

The plot revolves around two friends from the 707th Special Mission Battalion recruited into a secret South Korean black ops agency known as the National Security Service. Today get to go attend class with Perle again. We'd sign up for a Xmas Cookie Art Workshop with Sugar Inc. It had been a while since we last went for class together ... so excited.

At the workshop, we were given a cookie recipe to follow and make our own cookie. After that, the rest of the time is spend decorating up the cookies. That is also the main attraction for us to attend this workshop.

Just finish watching this drama. The ending really left me with a lot of 感触.

As per most drama, the lead actor and actress got together ultimately. But just before the leads gave each other a hug and end the drama, confession were being made. Both leads apologise for all hurt they had brought upon each other and had thank each other for being in their life.

This scene really touched me. I believe many of us would have taken people around us for granted many a times. We often forgot about saying sorry or thank you to people who are always around us thinking that they will understand. How sad ... but is so true!!!

Anyway, back to the drama. I say this is only a passable drama but from it, you will learn quite a bit. To me, through this drama, I understand that communication is a very important in any relationship. Never leave anything unsaid espeially to those that you love and care about. If you are watching it, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Day 2 of JM's Simulator Trip - Florida

Though I had the whole night alone, but I bearly could drag myself up this morning. I'd promise my FIL to bring him down to Marina Bay Sands (MBS) for round 2 of family gathering. Got to get dressed up for the event and reach his place by 11:00am.

To make matter worse, my GPS is not update with MBS's coordinates!!! Got to study the route to MBS online and keep it stored in my mind.

12:00pm - Arrival at MBS ... safe and sound. But only upon arrival then I knew there is no public parking at MBS hotel itself. Hotel parking is all via Valet. If wana park myself, got to park at the shopping centre section and walk over. To save trouble, I'd decided to valet the car but only to realise that valet charges as follows:-

1) Hotel Guest - $12/day
2) Non Hotel Guest - $12 for 1st hour. $1 per subsequent 1/2 hour up to max $26 per day.

I almost fainted when I heard it but no choice ... committed liao.

When asked for directions to head to the hotel room, we were told that we had to either register our names at the counter before heading up to the room or get the guest to come down to get us. For this, of cos we rang up the guest and got them to come get us. After all, relatives right ... no need to 客气 with them.

JM's cousin and her hubby stayed at the Chairman Suite at MBS ... located at the 54th level. Private lift up to the level and quite a spectacular view from up there. Lunch was served right in the suite and after that we were escorted to the Sky Park for a 'tour'.

Very good service right ... but you can't expect less if you are paying $7000 plus for a night's stay in that room I say ... LOL

Day 1 of JM's Simulator Trip - Florida

Still into Day 1 of JM's departure ...

After a few hours of rest, got to drag myself out from bed liao. Gotta bring lunch down to West Coast for the kids. MIL will be out for her medical check up and hence I got to settle the boys' lunch since they had spent a night at her place while mummy is at the airport with daddy :p

After feeding the boys lunch, I headed back to CCK to get get my nails touched up. The colors on my hands are peeling off already and there's a chip on my toe because clusmy me kicked on something and chipped of the polish on my toes.

Since it is Halloween today ... I'd decided to go for a dark color tone for my nails and have something different drawn on my toes ^_^

Nails ... DONE. Next, buy birthday cake for grandma, head home change, pick up in-laws n kids at West Coast ... lastly, head to CHIJMES for dinner at Lei Gardens.

Base on past experience, food there is really really good. I had stuffed myself to the max with all the yummy food. As the day comes to an end, I am almost drained out. Luckily my PIL offered to take care of the boys for the night but on a condition that I go pick them up to head to MBS for lunch the next day.

DUH ... I had long planned to give that family gathering a miss actually but the fact that I can rest in peace after such a long day is very tempting. In the end, my tiredness had taken charge of my plans. I gave in to their request so that I can have a good rest when I head home ...

P/S: Did I mentioned that we had dinner in Lei Garden's private room? We had 2 tables of 8 pax and very comfortably fitted into the room.

French Medicure ^_^

Hmm ... within 2 weeks, this is my 2nd medicure session. What to do ... blame it on the wedding dinners that came one after another LOL. Last night got to attend another friend's wedding.

Nail polish never last long on my fingers because of my constant contact with water. Plus the last session at PINC, wasn't really that satisfactory because they never cut the dead skin away nicely. That gave me another reason to get my hands 'fixed'

Choose to do french medicure this time round. It had been awhile since I last did it. Very very pleased with the end result.

Attended this wedding with Perle and Zhen Yang ... how exciting ... 1st time ever we attended such a formal event together ^_^

Food - KOI Bubble Tea

Hmmm ... is the bubble tea craze back again?

My SIL was bragging about KOI bubble tea and how she and her collegues rotate shift to Q for almost 1 hour to get their drinks. The way she describe it make me wana go get a cup myself.

Oh well ... I finally got my own cup today!!! :p

Verdict - I think is so-so only lah ... or maybe is just the drink I'd ordered. I ordered Milk Tea with Pearl, 1/2 sugar strength. But my SIL said I should try the flavoured drinks not the normal milk tea.

Oh well, the only thing I like about it is you get to choose how sweet you want your drink. And somehow, I think their pearl size is slight smaller that the usual ones you buy elsewhere. Makes chewing easier. Maybe one day I should give the other flavours a try to give it a fair verdict :p

If you remember this drama, then you will remember the handsome prince in the show and yes ... that's him. He is back in the music scene with Better Together as his comeback song. Heard this following song via one of the k-pop programme I watched and like the song almost immediately. It has a very lovely and catchy tune paired with beautiful voice of the singers. I do hope you like this song as much as I do.

The next song would require some time to like it. The song grows on you ... I din really like it the 1st time I hear it but the catchy tune kinda got stuck in my head after the 1st time. That lead me to pay more attention to the song whenever it was featured on TV. As time pass, I really did start to like the song :p

Today is the BIG DAY for our dearest friends Zhen Yang n Perle!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!

As buddies ... both JM n myself are at their service on this big day.

Events for the day officially started at 8:00am at The Sentosa Spa and Resort. The usual gate crashing events, solemnisation and dinner banquet are all happening right here.

After the morning set of events, gate crashing and lunch, I head out to Vivo City with one other 姐妹 to get out hair set and make up done :p

美美 right ^_^ ... lol hold your puke ok ... please ...

2nd set of events sparks off at 5:30pm ... solemnisation followed by the dinner banquet.

Did not have much chance to take pictures as the event proceeds on. Had quite a bit on hand to take care of and to help around. By the end of the day, both JM n myself were as tired out as the bride and groom ... LOL.

It is also very nice of them to invite us to take up the spare room in the villa that they had. Driving home after everything would be quite a task for either one of us.

It had been awhile since I last recommended a TVB drama ... not that I'd stopped watching it but seriously, there's none that is really worth recommending.

This is a love story between a professor and a policewoman. Their dating experience is enhanced with sense and sensibility through the application of interesting physics theories on the investigation of various crime cases.

KING POK (Raymond Lam) is regarded as the youngest genius in physics and he is appointed as an associate professor in a Hong Kong university. Invited by his good friend LO TIN-HANG (Kenneth Ma), Senior Inspector of Police at Regional Crime Unit, POK assists in cracking many mysterious crime cases and he also meets the policewoman CHUI SIU-LAI (Tavia Yeung) during the process. The rational POK evaluates that he has fallen in love with LAI because of a love hormone called “phenylalanine”. However, owing to the huge difference in their family background and life value, POK fails to tackle their ever-changing relationship problems with formulas.

Sunday night dinner is always a headache espcially when I am not in the mood to cook.

Got to find a place with not much crowd, a restuarant with no queue etc ... Sunday leh ... how possible ... I say, it is almost impossible at shopping malls near me.

What to do??? Think of a place further loh ... furthest away from home ... CHANGI AIRPORT!!! LOL ... somemore the terminal we choose is the longest standing one which we guess probably got the least crowd.

What's there to eat??? To our surprise, we found out that ASTONS SPECIALITIES got a brunch there ... mai tu liao ... off we went to try out this new outlet.

True enough ... there ain't much people around at T1 and best of all, there's no queue at Astons. P/S: A queue outside the restaurant would be a common sight at more commonly visited places.

My dear friend's big day is finally approching!!!!

All her 姐妹 had decided to gather and spend time with her before she becomes someone's MRS. To show her appreciation, she gave us a treat at her husband's restaurant, Tenza Izakaya, yesterday. In return ... we got her 'crowned' and told her to serve us our desserts!!! LOL

She was not allowed to take of anything of the things even when we switch location to Kepple Bay for a drink after dinner.

Over there, we had some serious discussion ... some girls talk and of course not forgetting our task for our Miss Bachelorette ^_^

Before we could really start, we got 'bumped' into by another lady who is also celebrating her hen's night. What a coincident ^_^

It did not take long for Perle to finish her task as there are not many tables with guys only sitting around. Lucky for her ...

Our friend Kenneth and Katherine finally moved into their new home.

Tonight, we were invited over for a simple dinner.Though they are still in the process of unpacking and beatifying the place but can feel that it is gona be a cozy place for them.

They had a pet dog named Cookie which I am so amazed that the dog would 乖乖 stay in the basket when he was placed in it and never attemp to jump out. But later on I was told that was because he was never taught how to jump in the 1st place ... hahaha.

Owein found the dog so cute and very soon, Owein had a new found friend. He is always seen next to Cookie and distrubing him ...

Durian Feast!!!

As usual, it is always a headache to decide what to eat on a Friday night. By the time we drop off Oswald at in-law's place after his music class, it is usually to late to last minute to jio people out for dinner as most probably would have dinner plans already or had already taken dinner.

But I suddenly had a strong urge to eat durian and tried my luck to jio fellow durian lovers out and guess what ... I was so LUCKY!!!! Managed to get Billy and Lishan to meet us after Billy's work and Kenneth and Katherine (who were are the East) came to join us too!!!

We all met at Simply Durian @ West Coast for our durian feast!!!

Can't remember the name/breed of the durian that the guys ordered but it is really really big!!!

Owein's 3rd Birthday Bash

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY OWEIN!!!

3 years back, Owein arrived safely to meet the family at Thomson Medical Centre. So fast 3 years went by and he's growing into a fine little boy.

This year, Owein's birthday celebration comes in 3 waves!!!

1st wave ... we had a major party with friends and family on 25 Sept 2010. Mummy gotten together a buffet menu, a huge Toy Story theme birthday cake and toys to play with during party time.

2nd wave ... is a party at school today!!! And upon his request, mummy gotten him another Toy Story cake once again ^_^

3rd wave ... and the last one, dinner at Tenza!!! The boys had been wanting to head back to U. Zhenyang's shop to eat and today they finally have the chance. The boys were so excited and their 1st time sitting at the counter bar. Our friend Perle and Zhenyang fuss over the boys while we were there. And did I mention guns??? Oh yes ... the boys gotten their ever 1st foam bullet guns from U. Zhenyang.

This is the 3rd year that we are organising the F1 night race here in Singapore and I finally got the chance to go have a feel LIVE!!!

JM n myself still thinks watching the actual race at home would provide more coverage hence we gotten ourselves the pass for practice session.

It was really an experience to be there. Spent almost about 6 hours out there ... phew ... I was dead tired by the time we reached home. But I still think it is really a worth it trip.

Had an impressive dinner at LEI GARDEN (Chijmes) not too long ago. This time, I am back to collect mooncake ... 顺便 hang around for dim sum lunch.

Since is only me n JM, there is a limit to the variety of food we ordered. Overall, other than the hefty price attached (pricing is slightly above average), the food was as fantastic as of those that are being served at dinner previously.

When I ask for this show at the rental shop, I was told this is Sex and the City (korean version). Not a keen fan of Sex and the City, hence wasn't that keen but because Kim Bum is one of the lead actors, I've chanced my mind.

This drama depicts lives of three women who are closing one chapter of their life and entering the next. Lee Shin Young (Park Jin Hee), Jung Da Jung (Uhm Ji Won) and Kim Boo Ki (Wang Bit Na) are three women in their 30s whose romantic relationships have faltered due to their career ambitions, but find themselves given a chance to make a fresh start.

IMO, the gist of the drama is really about the love life and complains of the 3 women. The drama did have its fair show of humor and heart touching scenes but if it is not because of Kim Bum, I probably would not pick up this show unless there's nothing much better to watch.

Brought the kids to Jurong Point for lunch today because mummy wanted to check out the mooncake fair there. The kids' pick for lunch today is MacDonalds and both decided to eat burger instead of their usual nuggets. It is their 1st time asking to eat burger and this mummy was a little worried. But since they asked for it, then that's what they get.

Ordered a cheese burger for them to share ... to my surprise, they both finish their share of it. Hmm ... does that means no more ordering of nuggets in the future??? Hope so, cos compare to nuggets, I would prefer to them to eat burger instead.

Cough ... cough ... cough!!! This is for real!!! I really fell sick this time ... not a false alarm.

It is really no joke to fall sick when you are in such situation:-

1) Hubby in not in town.
2) No one is around to give help at home.
3) You are all alone at home with kids to take care of.

Managed to pull through a day yesterday but today ... there's no way around it.

Felt very tired still this morning but got to drag myself up to get the kids ready for school. Could not rest while the kids are at school because my PT cleaner is around cleaning the house. Argh ... what a morning!!!

I felt worse while lunch with the kids. Feel like my whole body wana break apart and got no strength to do anything. The moment we reached home ... I told the boys to play on their own as mummy needs to take a rest. But who knows ... the moment I drop onto my bed ... I rested for a long while. Though I was waken a few times to attend to the boys but I drop back dead on my bed the moment my head touch my pillow.

When I finally woke up willingly, it was almost 3:00pm liao ... which means ... the boys were on their own for almost 2 hours. Scary!!! But luckily they both do behave quite well and did not mess up the house. Called the 2 of them into the room for their nap and I dosed off once again.

After a long rest, fever gone and my body feels slightly better. But felt very guilty because while I was resting, the boys were all alone by themselves.

Hokay ... after a long 'break' from JM's US detachment, its time for him to 'travel' once again. This time is a 5 day exercise to South China Sea.

Yeah ... 5 days of FREEDOM!!! wahahaha ... *kidding*

I think this 5 days without him around would be hell. Why??? Because ... I think I am falling sick. Don't really feel good yesterday already and hubby left this morning. My throat hurts and body feels weird ... starting to ache a bit here and there. Hope I will feel better after a night's rest.

Playing board games with friends is really fun!!! And I only kinda realised it recently hahahaha

Oh well ... it is never too late to discover it right :p

This is the 2nd time I popped into a board game cafe. Target venue = the Mind Cafe @ Tampines Safra.

We had such a good time there and time seems to fly. By the time we left, we then realised that we've sat there for 4 hours. Seems like a long time ... but not when you are having so much fun playing.

Lantern Festival 2010

When news on Lantern display along Singapore River this year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, JM had mentioned that he wanted to bring the kids to go take a look. But because he will be away next week for work and hence, we were only left with this weekend to decide which day to go.

And yesterday was the chosen day! Kinda regretted it when we were making our way there ... because the place is PACKED!!! All directions leading to that area is JAMMED!!! It took us more than an hour to travel from Commonwealth to Singapore River (Central) and to finally park our car. This is CRAZY!!! I almost want to cancel the trip liao but Owein burst out into tears when we got to turn out from Central (because carpark + valet FULL). Owein's reaction really surprised me because he seldom does that. This proof that he'd really looked forward to this outing.

We finally found a parking in a building at the opposite side of the river and walk our way there. After a quick dinner at Burger King, we made our way to go see the lantern display.

My opinion, if not because of the kids and companions ... I probably will not even want to go see. Seriously, I think is nothing spectacular. Somemore got to bear the jam and crowd ... really not worth the efford.

Oh well ... but at least the kids enjoyed it. Oswald slept till about 11:00am then woke up this morning. I guess he was tired out last night ^_^

It is Sunday once again and another chance to gather some friends out for a meal to do some catching up.

This time we choose to try out Old Hong Kong Kitchen located at Square 2.

A friend in the group mentioned that the dim sum is really nice and their pig stomach soup is highly recommended by my SIL.

We'd order quite a variety of food and indeed the food there is not bad. My personal favourites among the food we'd ordered are:-

1) Pig stomach soup
2) Steam custard bun
3) 三蛋粥

I was too busy handling the kids and indulging myself with the food that I totally forgotten to take pictures of it :p But not to worry, I probably will head back there again to try out their other dim sum items. I hope I will not forget about the pictures then.

P/S: If you do plan to give it a try, do give them a call to make a reservation. We almost cannot get a table but because we were there very early (12:00pm), they have no choice but to serve us.

Here's another Korean drama worth the watch. A 'light' weight show filled with humor and romance.

“Pasta” covers the dreams and success of a young woman who aspires to become an elite chef at La Sfera restaurant.

Seo Yoo Kyung started her career as a kitchen assistant at La Sfera restaurant for 3 years. Her dream is to become an Italian cuisine chef. She eventually works her way up to become a chef.

One day, the La Sfera restaurant newly hires Choi Hyun-wook, a chef who went to culinary school in Italy. Upon his arrival, the female chefs are fired one by one and Yoo-Kyung finds herself to be the last woman standing. She's fired several times but comes up with ways to be rehired by Choi Hyun-wook. Eventually she's rehired permanently when she wins a blind taste contest.

The newly hired president, Kim San hires his friend and celebrity chef Sae-young as a co-head chef to work with Hyun-wook. It turns out that Sae-young and Hyun-wook used to date each other when they were both studying at the Italian culinary school. But they broke up after Sae-young sabotaged his wine by boiling it to win a cooking contest. They turn into rivals and try to out do each other in making the finest Italian cuisine.

5:00am ... a large cup of mocha-cino from McCafe marks the start of my day on a Saturday.

I guess the heading of my post would have already hint you why I am up so early drinking coffee. Oh yes ... I am heading to Sepang ... a dreadful place to me (just kidding ^_^) but heaven to my lovely hub.

Today is one of those Sepang track day trip with hubby. As track session is from 9:00am to 12:00pm, we got leave early to cater for the approximate 2 hour+ drive to Sepang.

8:20am we finally arrived at Sepang!!!

After registration and driver's briefing ... it is time to get ready for track practice. Each driver were assigned with a number and darling's number is No. 33!!!

All done ... and off to the track!!!

While JM is having fun on track, I've decided to stay put in the pits :p

Sounds boring right ... but seriously I am enjoying myself because I was all prepared!!! Packed with our portable DVD player, I was enjoying myself with my K-Drama while my man is out having fun ^_^.

Hmm ... ok ... I got a confession to make ...

I think I am suffering from a post drama effect after watching 原来是美男 (He's Beautiful). It had happened once before, when I completed 花样男子 (Boys over Flowers), but it is happening again!!! Wahaha ...

The catchy music in the drama had gotten my attention and to make things worse, the cast in the show are singers too. Oh ya ... that made me dug more into the OST of the show and even songs each singers.

My favourite character in the show is Kang Shin Woo and the person behind this role is Jung Yong Hwa - lead singer of the Korean group C.N Blue.

Now, I am hooked to 2 songs by this group (other than the songs in the OST :p). The 2 songs are as follows ...

Oh ... did I mention 花样男子 (Boys over Flowers) earlier ... I think I did. That show really poisoned me. Especially Kim Hyun Joong who played the role as Yoon Ji Hoo. Oh yes ... I've conquer yet another K-Drama :p In fact I wasn't very keen to watch this drama reasons being:-

1) Had watched a preview of it on SCV (episode 1) and kinda thought it was so-so only.
2) The box set cover of angels n stuff ... it was kinda turned me off.

But ... the in-charge at my usual video rental shop highly recommend this show and since he had not disappoint me ever, I took his words and gave it a try. It turned out to be quite nice. There's very nice music Incorporated in the drama. Other than the usual love/hate/sacrifice plot, there's some humor in it too. Hence it was quite entertaining overall.

Go Mi Nyu is a sister-in-training. When her twin brother Go Mi Nam successfully auditions into the musical band A.N.JELL but is forced to leave for the United States to correct a botched plastic surgery effort, she is approached by his manager to pose as Mi Nam for the duration of his recovery. Against her wishes, Mi Nyu accepts in order to fulfill her brother's dream of finding their mother. Now, posing as Mi Nam, Mi Nyu enters the group A.N.JELL and meets its members; Hwang Tae Kyung, Kang Shin Woo and Jeremy.

Initially disliked by Tae Kyung, the group's leader and composer, Mi Nyu slowly falls in love with him, only to find herself entangled in a love triangle between him and Shin Woo. Jeremy also harbors a one-sided love for her despite not knowing she's a girl. As a result, all three members of A.N.JELL fall in love with Mi Nyu. Additionally, Mi Nyu finds herself rivaled against Yoo He Yi, an actress who also has feelings for Tae Kyung.

Now Mi Nyu has to wait in the "Mi Nam disguise" until he comes back from US, but its not easy due the media and paparazzi. Will she be able to hide her identity? Will she be able to keep up with this little secret that she is not a guy until the real Go Mi Nam comes back..?
