Bento #8

Walked past Four Leaves last night and Owein wanted to bring a donut to school for recess today. Obedient mummy hence bought a mini donut for him then and dress it up for him to bring school.

Using picks to brighten up but in the end 1 of them got LOST! Boo ... Hoo ... Hoo ... so heart ache but luckily is not one of the daisies. If one of those is lost I think I will go mad cos they ain't cheap. *sigh*

Bento #7 - The Plane

Sandwich cutters are always my favourites especially for rush mornings or when out of ideas or for last minute requests. Taking out the same old plane cutter I had and this is what Oswald gets to bring school.

Bento #5 - Message Board

Gotten the message board inspiration online. It is a good idea to leave messages to the boys and to encourage them at school.

Something real simple yet sweet =)

Bento #3 - Happy Morning!

After 2 mornings, mummy battery flat already. All I can think of is for something simple and does not take up too much time to prepare and to assemble.

Pork floss bread with some snacks and picks to brighten up the meal for Wednesday recess. Something really simply but yet yummy to Oswald because he loves pork floss!

Bento #2 - Rockets and Stars

Conversation with Oswald yesterday.

M: Os, do you want me to pack food again for you tomorrow or you eat before you go school?

O: Eat before go school.

M: *doubting him, ask again* ... You sure you want to do that? You got to wake up by 6am if that's the case. You able to wake up by then?

O: *looked shocked ... thought hard* Ok, then you pack for me but simple one arh.

M: *hahahaha, guess it will take him awhile to get use to the morning timings*

This is something really simple to me ... hope it is inline with his SIMPLE defination :p

We have got milk bread and wholemeal bread with his favourite jam spread. 1 kueh bulu split into halves and some gummy sweets. Simple enough I guess. All the cut outs and arrangement was done last night at 3am!!!

Another bento packing full of drama. Suppose to pack last night after putting Odin to bed. But mummy dosed off with Odin and had ignored alarm warning. Only to jumped out of bed at 3am realising her mistake and to complete the uncompleted task. Went back to dreamland after that but to wake again in a few hours to wake Oswald and to assamble the box. Going to be a zombie day for mummy.

Bento #1 - Mickey

Finally Oswald is able to head back school after all the rest and all the medication. I was worried that he would not be able to wake up in time hence decided to pack a box for him to bring school for recess.

Prepared the shapes for Mickey last night using bread ends. What's left to do in the morning is to assemble and add on whatever snacks I can find to fill in the gaps. Mickey was looking ok until I itchy hand went to wrap it up in glad wrap. After wrapping up then realised the pieces of Mickey was shifted. Argh!!! Mistake to wrap up with bread!!! Also, a mistake to use margarine to 'stick' the pieces to the bread!!! Should have used something more sticky instead e.g. peanut butter!!! What a flop!!! This is the end result for not bento-ing for so long and also probably for waking at 6am to pack. Body is moving around working but brain still sleeping ... haha.

As for Oswald, he really did not managed to wake up in time. Alarm rang and he still zzz. Only managed to get up at around 6:45am and in 15 minutes he got to head out for school! Hope he won't take long to get use to the morning schedule.

Conversation with Owein

JM had a little talk with Owein regarding school ...

JM : Owein, how was school so far?

Owein : Good.

JM : Do you like the new school?

Owein : *answered with a big grin* Yes.

JM : Really? Then what do you like about the school?

Owein : *having a guilty look* I like the canteen ...

JM : *laughing at Owein* Canteen??!! Why you like the canteen?

Owein : *giggles* Because I can buy food!!

Hahahaha my piggy boy ... all he think of is FOOD!!!

Back to SCHOOL!

Finally it is time to head back to school for the boys. Start of Primary school journey for Owein. Really hope he would be ready for it. As for Oswald, start of a new pharse in Primary school. Primary 3 life in school would be a totally new experience for him. But so unfortuntely, a bad virus struck him and he is still not well and had to report sick on the 1st day of school!

While every other P3s classmates having orientation in school, he visited the doctor and was given 2 days MC! Hope he really rest well and recovers over the weekend to be back in school on Monday.

After morning rush to the doctor, it is finally time for Owein to head school. P1s are still in the afternoon session as the school upgrading would only complete end year.

Anyway, once a cheeky boy ... always a cheeky boy. Told him to stand properly to take a picture, he gives me funny pose and cheeky smile.

Bye 2013 ... Hello 2014!!!

Spent the last few moments of 2013 at a friend's house, eating ... drinking ... singing, to welcome the new year.

2013 was spent nurturing Odin towards his 2nd year of life, maturing Owein to ensure he is ready for Primary 1 next year and stressing with Oswald to prepare him for his 1 major exam at year end. Odin had shown gradual improvements and had displayed to us his wittiness. Owein had also shown improvement in his reading and spelling skills after attending classes with My English School. Oswald had one again proven to us that he is academically strong by achieving very good results and had gotten into a banded class in Primary 3.

2014, in the coming year,  new challenge will be faced. One of which would be Owein adapting to Primary school life. Can't wish for the journey to be a smooth sailing one as I know it is impossible. I just hope that the tides are not too rough and manageable for myself and everyone.
